What is EverMagic?

EverMagic is a 2D pixel-art fantasy MMORPG: explore open maps, hunt monsters, level up, gather and craft, trade with other players and face the boss of each region.
A world overtaken by magic.
Choose your class/race and risk it all for the prize.

How is blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency used in this product?

Playing, combat, quests, loot, crafting and player-to-player trading all run on
our own servers, entirely off-chain, and the game client contains no wallet and
no blockchain code. Blockchain is used in three places:

  • Account creation — optional: besides the regular username-and-password
sign-up, players may create their account and sign in with an EVM wallet.

  • Store — an external web store, separate from the game, where purchases are
paid in EVA (Ever Value Coin), an ERC-20 token. When a purchase is confirmed
on-chain, our service reads the transaction and delivers the corresponding
    item to the player's account.

  • Season rewards — end-of-season rewards are distributed on-chain.

No NFTs are minted, sold, or required at any point.

What utility does this bring to the product?

It is an alternative payment method: with EVA, through blockchain, players can acquire stamina and vigor potions, warehouse expansions and experience passes, without needing a credit card or a region-specific payment provider.
▎ In-game, the token is not related to governance, staking, yield or exclusive power: everything it buys is a convenience item or a battle pass.

Does this product require me to connect an external wallet? What wallets does this product support?

Not to get started. Accounts can be created with a username and password, and
the game is playable that way within the free version's playtime limit. The game
client itself never asks for a wallet.

A wallet is needed in two cases, both optional: signing in with a wallet instead
of a username and password, and buying from our external web store — including
the pass that extends playtime. That store connects through WalletConnect, so
any EVM-compatible wallet works. Linking a wallet address to a game account is
used only to match an on-chain purchase to the account that should receive the
item.

Can I use the product without interacting or engaging with blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency?

Yes, in a limited form. Players can create an account with a username and
password and play without ever owning a wallet, holding any token, or making a
purchase, but that mode has limited playtime. Playing beyond that limit requires
a pass, which is purchased with EVA on our web store — and that step does
require a wallet.

What chain does this product use? Is the chain proof-of-work or proof-of-stake?

Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 network. Ethereum and its layer-2 networks are proof-of-stake; no proof-of-work mining is involved at any point.

Does this product have a marketplace? What can I do with the things that I earn (or purchase)?

Yes, we have an in-game marketplace where items can be traded between players. We are also developing a marketplace on our website, where items will likewise be tradable between players.

Are there in-app purchases within the gameplay? How are payments processed?

There are no purchases inside the game client: the game has no store screen, no checkout and no payment form.
▎ Purchases are made outside the game, on our web store, by sending EVA from the player's own wallet. Payments are processed on-chain by the network itself; we never collect or store credit card data or any payment credentials.

What should I know before paying with EVA?

EVA (Ever Value) is an ERC-20 token hosted on the Arbitrum blockchain.
Cryptocurrency purchases carry risks that players should understand before buying:

  • The value of EVA can change at any time.

  • Blockchain transactions are final and cannot be reversed or refunded by us.

  • The network charges a transaction fee (gas) that goes to the network, not to us, and is not included in the item price.

  • Items delivered to an account have no monetary value and cannot be converted into money.

  • EverMagic is not responsible for external issues, mistaken transactions, or capital losses and gains.
