ModnyVR: Slit Lamp Simulator

Users can position the instrument, adjust its controls and settings, direct the patient’s gaze and observe the results through a simulated binocular examination view. The simulation helps learners understand how each adjustment affects the examination and supports the development of practical confidence, familiarity and examination flow.

The simulation also enables learners to explore ocular pathologies and abnormalities that may be difficult to encounter during traditional training, where students often practise mainly on healthy peers. By allowing repeated practice without time pressure or clinical risk, ModnyVR provides an accessible way to prepare for supervised teaching, clinical placements and real-world slit lamp examinations.
