Keep your temper under lock and key, absolutely no cursing, and treat every customer with the utmost respect.

You can't just use your mouth either—you must keep your hands busy, racing against the clock using your mouse and keyboard to look up data and log complaints while maintaining a polite voice.

Oh, and one more thing: need a bathroom break? Got a real-life emergency? Too bad. In the real world of live customer service, there is no pause button. Once you log in, the calls keep coming, and you are locked into this unforgiving real-time chaos until your shift ends.
