Meals That Actually Matter
Combine your ingredients into gastronomical wonders. Food service buildings still feed colonists but can now also add delicacies that affect colonist comfort, morale, health, and sanity. What are sugar, bread, butter, and cheese if not Comfort enhancers? A poorly fed colony can survive — but invest in your menus and your colonists will thrive!
New Buildings
Bakery — Food and butter in, fresh bread out.
Fast Food Restaurant — High-volume meals for a booming population. Or drop a Food Stand where a district doesn't need the full kitchen.
Gourmet Restaurant — High-end dining for colonists with expectations.
Panoramic Restaurant (Spire) — Fine food, exceptional service, and the best view on Mars.
Coffee Vending Machine — Small, indoor, and the only reason half your colony gets out of bed.
Barista Cafe — Coffee served properly, for colonists who can tell the difference.
Automated Farm — No workers, no food, pure delicacies. Let the machines handle it!
Insect Farm — A bold new frontier in Martian agriculture, turning out meat and sugar.
Small Farm - for when you want something less sprawling.
Food Processing Plant — Refine basic delicacies into advanced ones.
- Food Packaging Plant — Convert delicacies into food, or food into delicacies, once the right law is on the books.Replicator (Spire) — Delicacies from raw power, at a staggering cost.
Every food service building carries its own selection of delicacies — and you decide what is on the menu today. Food production is now connected to where you're farming. The Underground and Surface can grow different types of crops. Dig deep, grow smart, and feed your colony from below!
Colonist Traits & Commanders
New food-related traits mean everyone's taste is different: Coffee Enthusiast and Foodie are yours to work around, while the rare Celebrity Chef is yours to hunt for. Two new commander profiles set the table: Horticulturalist and Agronomist.
