Total War: WARHAMMER III – Tides of Torment

The Tides of Torment DLC pack brings three infamous new Legendary Lords for the High Elves, Slaanesh and Norsca to life, with thrilling new faction gameplay for Immortal Empires and Custom battles.

Total War: WARHAMMER III – Tides of Torment

Sea Lord Aislinn

Aislinn is a peerless tactician and a ruthless defender of Ulthuan. Commanding the fabled Dragonships, he crests the waves in search of threats and performs lightning strikes, dedicating the settlements he captures to the High Elves.

Campaign Feature: Dragonship Fleets
Aislinn has been awarded command of the Dragonships: huge self-sufficient vessels which house mighty Asur armies and provide support and recruitment services to other High Elf ships on the high seas. It is from these floating fortresses that Aislinn launches his ground assaults.

Battle Playstyle:
When Asilinn attacks, it is from land, sea and air. Accompanied by the Phoenix Guard Captain Caradryan, he fields deadly Lothern Skycutter flying chariots, a host of Elven Infantry units, and calls fabulous denizens of the deep to war.

Dechala the Denied One

Down through the centuries, Dechala has waged an unending war of cruelty and exploitation. She is one of Slaanesh’s most devoted servants, dedicated to pain and pleasure in equal measure.

Campaign Feature: Pillars of Cruelty
When Dechala and her forces conquer and occupy a settlement, it can be converted into one of three new settlement types: a Thrall Camp, providing an expendable workforce for her ambitions, a Tormentor’s Hold, which serves as a military outpost and recruitment centre, or a great Pleasure Palace: a glittering monument to Dechala herself, and a powerful centre for developing her military and economy.

Battle Playstyle:
Wielding a sword in each of her six arms, the serpentine Dechala becomes a whirling dance of death in combat. She commands armies of decadent destruction, composed of her deadly retinue of Devotees and Pleasureseekers, plus monstrous Slaangors, Champions of Slaanesh and the dreaded Preyton.

Sayl the Faithless

Sayl is a sorcerer to be reckoned with and commands the fierce armies of the Dolgan Tribe. That alone would make him a foe to be feared, but his true power lies in his gift for deception and betrayal. None are safe from his treachery!

Campaign Feature: Dark Ritual
Ever-thirsty to magnify his sorcerous strength, Sayl strives to enact a great ritual. To do this, he must construct Chaos Altars, allowing him to channel great arcane power. Through enacting rituals, he will face many battles, events and dilemmas in his quest for supreme power, including his greatest challenge, if he is to claim the ultimate prize.

Battle Playstyle:
Commanding the wild warriors of Norsca as he lights up the battlefield with arcane magic, Sayl also calls upon a host of gruesome monsters to aid him in battle, such as the hideous Curs’d Ettin, the Chimera, and the terrifying Dread Maw.

Total War: WARHAMMER III Ratings & Reviews

Polygon

by Ewan Wilson

This new fortification system is also present in siege battles and small settlement engagements, and it's probably the biggest change to the overall Total War formula. Capturing points on the map builds up your resources, which you can then spend on fortifying defensible areas. It's a compelling tactical addition, bringing Total War closer to other real-time strategy games where it's not just about wiping out an army, but capturing points, defending them, and using resources wisely. It does, however, also take away from what Total War battles always seemed to be about: careful, tactical positioning within a semi-realistic environment.

IGN

A fitting capstone to the trilogy, the story-heavy campaign and an armload of exciting new factions lead Total War: Warhammer 3 to victory.

A brilliant final act with the series' most inventive and unusual factions yet.
