毋須多加介紹，Flying Scotsman 是歷久彌新的鐵路象徵。該列車由 Sir Nigel Gresley 完成設計，並於 1923 年二月自 Doncaster Works 完工出廠，隨後改造為更加精良的 A3 型太平洋機車。
