What is Early Access?

Ultimate Jam is in free Early Access on the Epic Games Store. You can download and play at no cost while we continue active development. The full 2-on-2 arcade loop is playable today, but polish, content, and online features are still evolving on the way to 1.0.

Why release in Early Access?

We want real players on real hardware shaping the game. Free Early Access lets us tune feel, AI, controls, and match flow with community feedback while we build toward proper matchmaking, a larger roster, and full platform polish.

When is the full release planned?

Our target for 1.0 is April 2027. Early Access is expected to run through late 2026 as we move from alpha into open beta and desktop polish. Dates may shift — we’ll update this page and patch notes if plans change.

Is Early Access really free?

Yes. Ultimate Jam is free to download and play during Early Access on the Epic Games Store. If you claim it now, you keep the game — future updates through 1.0 are included at no extra charge. We may introduce a price at full release for new players; existing Early Access owners will not be charged again.

What is included in Early Access? What is the current state of the product? What’s included now vs. what’s planned for 1.0?

Available now:

  • Full core 2-on-2 arcade ultimate loop — pulls, stalls, passes, hucks, layouts, end-zone scoring

  • Vs CPU, Local 2-player, and Online P2P (host/join with a room code)

  • Two teams (Jammers vs Cyclones) and four characters (Rocco, Mohawk, Dread, Robot)

  • Turbo, shoves, layout dives, charged throws, and On Fire streak bonuses

  • Hype announcer, crowd reactions, match music, and adjustable settings

Planned before / at 1.0:

  • Dedicated online matchmaking (replacing raw P2P host/join as the primary online experience)

  • Expanded roster, additional stadiums, and animation/polish pass

  • Achievements and other storefront features

  • Ongoing balance, AI, and feel tuning from player feedback

Is this a finished game?

No. This is an alpha-stage Early Access build. Expect bugs, rough edges, and features still in progress. The core loop is fun and complete enough for short sessions, but this is not final polish.

How do I report bugs or send feedback?

For bugs, include what you were doing, Windows version, input device (controller/keyboard), and a screenshot or clip if possible. For online issues, also note whether you were hosting or joining and whether you’re behind a strict router/NAT.

Controller support?

Yes — full gamepad support with rebindable controls. Controller recommended; keyboard also works.

Will I have access to the product during the entire Early Access phase?

Yes! We hope to hear from you with feedback and bug reports to help us make the best Ultimate game ever!
