2007年から2010年にかけて、シトロエンC4 WRCは、参加した56のWRCラリーの内、36のラリーで優勝している。この期間中を完全に支配していたSébastien Loebは、このシトロエンC4で34回の勝利をおさめた。そしてローブの後継者であったSébastien Ogierも、2010年に最初に参加した2つのラリーで優勝を掴んだ。
当時としては異端ともいえるデザインではあったが、その抜群のパフォーマンスにより、本車は最高の人気を誇るWRCラリーカーの一台であった。
