Established 200 years ago by the merging of several large industrial companies, with the primary mission of designing and constructing huge Radio Towers on each island, to take advantage of a newly discovered communication method. Controlling these towers gave the corporation immense influence and power over the world. Slowly they used that influence to embed allies into local politics, and they exert soft power over much of the world. There are a few islands that resist the influence of N Corp, and because of that, they lag technologically.

75 years ago, N-Corp unveiled its latest creation, a device capable of capturing the essence of wild Chainmons, creatures that have inhabited the world alongside humankind for generations. This technology behind this device, called a Replicator, is top secret, and it’s not known why only certain humans can operate them. Replicators have changed the world as we know it, with interest and activity around research and capturing Chainmons spreading like wildfire.

Replicators are exclusively manufactured by N-Corp. N-Corp recruits from mostly high school aged kids, for unknown reasons, but is comprised of employees and agents of all ages.
Certain kids are screened and chosen to receive Replicators upon turning 16. This is supposed to be a fair process, but most of the time only the rich and connected are chosen. Once a kid has been chosen, and proven they can activate a Replicator, they are sent over to the prestigious Skyview University located near N-Corp’s Headquarters. Upon graduation they are given cushy agent roles with the Company.

Sometimes Replicators will go for sale on the Black Market. People who acquire these are known as Shadows. It’s a criminal offense to own a Replicator without registration, so these Shadows keep themselves hidden, organize underground tournaments, and occasionally will battle each other in public. Not all Shadows are nefarious, although many of them are former thieves and punks.
