What is Apeiron?

Apeiron is a roguelite x god game, the first of its kind. Become a godling, a newborn god summoned by High Goddess Cosmos to fight against the nefarious forces of the Mad God Chaos. Dive into dangerous, procedurally generated dungeons and experience our unique real-time card battler, which fuses gameplay from Slay the Spire, TFT, and popular MOBAs into a fresh new combat experience. Take control of Planets full of cute and chubby doods and use elemental miracles to shape the world to your liking, answering the doods' prayers for a heaven on earth....or punishing their sins by reducing the land to a blasted hellscape. Ascend to the stars, claim your divinity, and save the godiverse! Apeiron is currently in Early Access for its Alpha build with PvE roguelite features live. We will be adding a PvP mode in our beta launch, scheduled for Q3 2023.

Why isn't Apeiron available in my country on Epic Game Store?

How is blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency used in this product?

Built on the Polygon blockchain, in Apeiron, players will earn Anima - in-game currency - simply by playing the game. They can use Anima as they normally would to purchase things in the game, but they can also choose to trade their Anima for real cryptocurrency. This is the power of the blockchain: to empower players with control over the assets that they themselves earn through playing.
Besides Anima, players will also be able to convert certain objects into Relic NFTs, which they can either use to grow their own account or trade. If they wish, they can also purchase either a Planet or a Star NFT. Planet NFTs provide different sets of powerful skills for your Avatar and give the opportunity to create more Planet NFTs through breeding, while Star NFTs offer passive bonuses, which can be rented out to other players to generate a form of passive income.

What utility does this bring to the product?

Being on the blockchain gives players control over the assets they generate through their play while also ensuring that any transactions are fair and open. Players will be able to enjoy Apeiron and convert their fun into tangible rewards at the same time.

Does this product require me to connect an external wallet? What wallets does this product support?

No. Players may try Apeiron for free by downloading the game and playing as a guest. While playing as a guest, progress will be saved but may be lost in the event of a game update. To ensure they retain their data, players may also choose to bind an account using just their email. Both guests and email-bound accounts will be able to claim 3 hours of "Booty Time" for increased rare item droprates. However, they will not be able to claim Animus or free mint items. In order to claim these, players will need to connect a wallet to their account. We support both Metamask and WalletConnect.

Can I use the product without interacting or engaging with blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency?

Yes, players do not have to interact with the blockchain at all should they have any reservations. Players can use their Anima as a simple in-game currency, and they never need to convert any of their in-game objects into NFTs. Nevertheless, we hope that players may be encouraged to try engaging with the blockchain through Apeiron, and to demonstrate that Apeiron being on the blockchain is a net positive for players.

What chain does this product use? Is the chain proof-of-work or proof-of-stake?

We have chosen to build Apeiron on the Polygon blockchain. We believe that Layer 2 blockchain platforms like Polygon are ideal for game developers, since they provide faster transaction speeds and lower transaction fees. That being said, we are open to integrating other solutions in the future when we see fit. Polygon is proof of stake.

Does this product have a marketplace? What can I do with the things that I earn (or purchase)?

Yes, Apeiron has an official Marketplace website. By playing through the battle demo season 2, players will get dood Apostles, Animus (a non-transferable utility token available for claiming to battlepass holders), and Dood Halo (a rare free mint item). On our Marketplace, players will be able to use their Animus for various functions, such as purchasing additional Booty Time, increasing the drop rate on rare Apostles and Artifacts. Players will also be able to use the Marketplace to mint one of their Warrior, Priest, or Hunter Apostles into a permanent NFT - and they may do so for free by offering up the Dood Halo.
