Why Early Access?
Project Electric Sheep is an exciting and complex game with lots of features already enabled, and lots more planned in the near future! As we continue to implement these new features and iron out a few existing bugs, we're really keen to give players access to the game so far. We want people to be able to start creating and exploring their own AI dreams, and we want to gather player feedback in order to find and fix more bugs to improve the game prior to full release.
What is included in Early Access?
The Early Access game features the core gameplay loop. You can:
Create a unique dream
Explore your 3D dreamworld with AI-generated elements including art murals, graffiti and advertisements
Chat with up to 50 NPCs in each dream world, talking to them one-to-one as well as listening to and participating in their group conversations
Explore 3D dreamworlds created by other players
What is the current state of the game?
The core gameplay loop described above is fully playable in the Early Access version of Project Electric Sheep. There may be some small aesthetic bugs which we will continue to fix in updates as they arise. Based on community feedback about the gameplay experience, we will prioritise new features for when the game leaves Early Access.
How long will the game be in Early Access?
Currently, it is hard to say. We have an internal roadmap with exciting features which we would love to see in the game before leaving Early Access. However, upon Early Access release, it is our intention to listen closely to the community’s thoughts and feedback, and prioritise what players most want to see in the game.
How often will you be updating the game?
We are looking to release monthly feature updates. These will be a combination of community suggestions and exciting features we have on the roadmap. We will also release patches for bug fixes, performance and minor updates as they arise.
Will my progress be saved during updates?
Currently, when a world is generated, the data for this world is stored on our servers, where you and other players can revisit it. As we further develop the game, we will try our best to ensure that existing dreamworlds are preserved in their initially generated state. However, some updates may potentially break the generations of worlds generated in older versions, or include new elements which would otherwise be missing. In this case, we may regenerate a world’s layout, while preserving its content.
Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?
In Project Electric Sheep, existing dreams are free to explore, while creating new dreams and replying to NPCs uses paid-for credits. The base game currently comes with 1500 credits, or enough to create up to 15 dreamworlds. After that, players who want to keep creating dreams can purchase additional credits at the same price. This pay-as-you-dream approach reflects the costs of the generative AI models used in the game's technology.
Since first releasing PES on the Epic Games Store, we have already reduced the cost of dreams based on the most up-to-date player data. Post-launch, the cost of credits may go up or down again to reflect any changes in the cost of AI generations. It will always be free to revisit your own dreams or dreams created by other players.
Can I provide feedback and bug reports?
Absolutely! We have a Discord channel here (Yeni sekmede açılır) where we eagerly await your feedback and bug reports. In the future, we may look into more convenient in-game methods of sending feedback and bug reporting.
