Darkest Dungeon II
Darkest Dungeon II - FAQ

Darkest Dungeon II is an Early Access game. This FAQ answers questions that you may wish to know before or after purchasing.

What is included in Early Access? What is the current state of the game?

We estimate that Darkest Dungeon II currently has around two thirds or more of the expected final game content. The game is roguelike in structure and you can currently play the game entirely: you can complete expeditions, level up your profile, and unlock items. The game has one "Final Boss" currently, 9 hero classes, dozens of enemies, and over 250 items. We expect to add four more final bosses along with more characters, enemies, items. Exact amounts of added content may vary in the end.

Because it's an Early Access game, you are likely to encounter more bugs than in a finished game.

How long will the game be in Early Access?

We do not have a fixed timeline, but we are targeting approximately one year. However, the focus of Early Access is to improve the game based upon player feedback and for us to finish our planned features for the game. We may find that the game needs to be in Early Access for a longer period than expected in order to achieve all of our goals.

How often will you be updating the game?

Initially, we expect to patch frequently in order to address bugs. Once out of the immediate release window, we will be doing larger updates at a more spaced out regular cadence. We have not yet decided on those intervals but will release additional info when are ready to share it.

Will my progress be saved during updates?

We hope to preserve player progress if at all possible during updates, but cannot guarantee it. We recommend that you wait for full release if taking part in this uncompleted phase of the game poses too much risk for your enjoyment.

Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?

Just like with DD1, there will be a small price increase as the game comes out of Early Access.

Can I provide feedback and bug reports?

The game features a feedback and bug reporting feature that is accessible via the PAUSE menu or by pressing F6 at any time. We encourage you to make use of this!
