What is included in Early Access?

Our Early Access launch includes four playable heroes and Episode 1 of MythForce: “Bastion of the Beast Lord.” You’ll face a series of increasingly difficult challenges as you take on the overgrown ruins, deep inside the Cursed Lands. You can play solo, or join forces with friends in co-op mode for up to four players. There’s also a meta-progression system to level up your characters in between runs.
This is only the start of the MythForce adventure! We plan to continue expanding Episode 1 with new weapons, enemies, and more, but we’ll be relying on your community feedback to help us make MythForce the best it can be.

How long will the game be in Early Access?

We’re aiming to launch MythForce 1.0 after about one year of development in Early Access. That said, we want to dive deep into community feedback and craft a great game together. We’ll launch out of early access when we feel MythForce is ready.

How often will you be updating the game?

MythForce will get minor updates on the regular, with major content updates coming every few months. Minor updates will include bug fixes and quality of life improvements, while major patches will add heftier features and additions.

Can I provide feedback and bug reports?

Absolutely! The easiest ways to share your feedback are:
  • MythForce Discord: We have feedback and bug reporting channels in our discord, where you can chat with our team directly— plus you can connect with other heroes in the community! join here: https://discord.gg/7GzVDD4stB
  • Direct In-Game Report '/': Report your feedback while you’re playing by hitting the slash key: “/.” This brings up a window for bug reports and/or comments.
Team MythForce believes your voice should be heard, and that bug reporting is part of a hero’s work!

PTR FAQ BELOW

How do I access the PTR build?

Players can find the MythForce test build in the add-on sections of the main store page. After downloading the add-on, players will be able to launch the PTR and try out some exciting features in early development.

How unfinished will the PTR environment be?

Players should be aware that PTR builds WILL be buggy and very exploitable in many ways. We’re asking you to look past the broken windows and focus on the concepts on display.

How long will the PTR be live for?

The PTR will be an ongoing series of experiments, and we may continue to have a version of the PTR up for much of the rest of Early Access. As long as we have things we are experimenting with that we want feedback on, there will be a PTR for that.

How often will the PTR be updated?

PTR updates will be on a less fixed cadence than main build releases. We will be updating the PTR with regular changes once they’re ready for feedback, but if there’s nothing ready to be looked at, we may skip a cycle. We will continue to release on Wednesdays, and plan to let you know in advance of a new PTR release.

What type of new features can be expected in the PTR?

The broad focus of the PTR experiments are on improving the core gameplay and our long-term repeatability and metagame. You can expect experiments that change how current mechanics work, like moving weapon scavenging to a loadout-based system, expansions of depth to existing systems, like greatly expanding character upgrades in the metagame, and brand new features, like new in-development combat mechanics.

When will Episode 2: Crypt of the Necromancer be released?

We don’t have an exact date for Episode 2 right now. Once we have more information, we will let the players know via socials, Discord, and our weekly newsletter.

How can I provide some feedback on the PTR?

With every updated PTR, we will send out a survey to get your feedback on the new features, the gameplay, and the PTR build itself. The survey will change with every new PTR update. Players can also submit feedback via the in-game feedback tool (accessed by pressing “/” in-game), Discord or through any of our socials.

Will my test build progress carry over to the retail MythForce build?

No. The PTR exists separately from the retail build, and the two do not have compatible progress, as the PTR will be experimenting with new ways of progressing altogether. The PTR will have its own save games, and the two saves will be incompatible with one another.

Does the test build support multiplayer?

The test build is no different from the MythForce retail build and allows players to join friends in co-op mode for up to four players.

How do I report bugs encountered in the test build? Is it different to the retail build?

The best way to report bugs encountered in the test build is via the in-game feedback tool (accessed by pressing “/” in-game). Additionally, players can also report bugs encountered through the bug-reporting channel in the MythForce Discord.

Are there any perks for participating in the test build?

Players that participate and submit feedback on the test build will have a direct impact on MythForce’s progression going forward.

Is there any way to skip the challenge choice before entering a room?

The choice is an abstraction of how we might approach branching rooms, so each “branch” must be selected, much like you would choose which door to exit through if it were truly physically branching. Some selections do not include a challenge, however, so if you want to avoid a special challenge, choose those.
