After a long journey, The Settlers: New Allies has finally arrived on the Epic Games Store. The latest game in Ubisoft's 30-year-long series lets players tame the land, build towns and cities, and battle for control of the map. 

Players have a choice of the three factions, and each has a style and backstory that affects gameplay. The Elari are skilled craftsmen and diplomatically astute but have strong defenses for when diplomacy fails. They can build cheaper utilities and residences. The Maru are an altruistic society and great traders but will attempt to avoid conflicts. They're economically efficient. The Jorn are the hardiest faction from the cold North. They work hard, support each other, and have superior battle training and weapon smithing.



There are several modes and maps for players to while away their evenings. A full campaign allows players to slowly grow their faction, meeting new tribes and dealing with them diplomatically or with force if necessary. You can work together with the existing societies to build a better world. Or, if you really want to battle, there are 12 skirmish maps, each with modifiers to test your skills. There's also a hardcore mode that uses the skirmish missions as a base to truly test your skills, with challenges that are unique to the mode. You could begin a game against multiple factions or enemies already several steps along their research trees.

There's a lot to do for eager colonists and budding builders. The Settlers: New Allies is out now on the Epic Games Store.
