Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released for PC on March 19. Pre-purchase the post-apocalyptic delivery simulation now on the Epic Games Store!

In the second outing of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding series, Norman Reedus’s Sam Bridges once again sets out on a long expedition to restore connections between isolated communities and survivors. With companions by his side, Sam sets out on a new journey to save humanityfrom extinction

Death Stranding 2 builds on the tricky gameplay and hyper-dramatic presentation of the original, with Sam expanding outwards from the first game’s North American backdrop and connecting Mexico and Australia to the Chiral Network.

Sam’s job as a Porter piles his body high and wide with important deliveries. Players need to balance the urgency of the delivery with the physical skill it takes to climb mountains while carrying a towering stack of resources.

Planning a route means observing the tricky terrain, and Death Stranding 2’s desert backdrop adds new challenges to the gameplay. Earthquakes and flooded rivers will sweep the legs out from under you. Sandstorms will fill the screen. But there are more tools at hand to help traverse the new world, with a number of vehicles that can push through the shifting terrain.

The stealth elements of the first game, where you try to avoid human gangs and BTs (the souls of the dead trapped on Earth) have also been augmented with more weapons and tools. Sam is more capable in combat, with a greater range of weapons available. He can do everything from stealthy takedowns to sniping.

The “Stranding” part of the title has many meanings. The dead are stranded on Earth. The connections you make between communities are strands. And the game’s light multiplayer elements, where the world is slowly populated by other player’s bridges and builds, can be seen as a strand of sorts as well. Every time you build a bridge in your game, there’s a chance it can help other players in their own game.

Beyond the terrain and traversal, there are people to connect with. As in the first game, Kojima mixes actors, directors and long-time collaborators into a remarkable cast of characters. Alongside Norman Reedus as Sam, Léa Seydoux is back as Fragile, continuing the work of expanding the Chiral Network. Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna join the story, while legendary filmmaker George Miller appears as Tarman.

Additional PC features for Death Stranding 2 include unlocked framerates during gameplay (the cinematics are locked to 60 FPS), upscaling and frame generation, and ultra-widescreen support.

Pre-purchase Death Stranding 2: On the Beach now on the Epic Games Store, and be prepared for a hell of a journey.
