Something funny about summer: Every year, at about this time, the heat tends to melt prices at the Epic Games Store.

Highlights of the Epic Games Store Summer Sale

Homeworld 3
Homeworld 3 - Fleet Command Edition
The Homeworld series established itself as the premier name in space-based tactical combat 25 years ago as we first trekked through the stars in search of Hiigara. With the long-awaited Homeworld 3, Blackbird Interactive’s focus on space debris introduces a whole new level of strategic planning, resulting in some highly engaging dogfights. Keep your eyes open as you gather resources and perform recon—you never know when you might spot a quality ambush spot inside one of the hulking megaliths.

The Fleet Command Edition of Homeworld 3 goes beyond the base game and includes the Year One Pass, Multiplayer Customization Set, and Digital Soundtrack. And if you’re looking for some solid tips to get you started, we’ve got you covered.
Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition
Horizon Forbidden West returns us to one of gaming’s most engaging post-apocalyptic worlds, convincingly mixing futuristic techno-terrors with humanity at its most primal. In Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy explores what’s left of California for the cure to a plague. Her journey pits her against metal monstrosities both new and familiar, and with only a bow at your disposal, you’ll need to plan a little before hopping into combat against the most dangerous ones.

It’s very pretty—stunning, even, with ultrawide views expanding as large as 48:9. The Complete Edition includes both the Horizon Forbidden West base game and its Burning Shores expansion, plus other bonus material. (Our guide will walk you through the best early game skills.)
Destiny 2 Final Shape
Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Destiny 2’s latest expansion, The Final Shape, delivers no shortage of new content. There’s a saga-ending campaign of universe-spanning heroics, the new Prismatic subclass, the Pale Heart destination, and a 12-player raid, just to name some highlights. And there’s so much more to come, as Bungie promises three additional Episodes later this year that will evolve the story even further. Look for Revenant and Heresy to join the recently released Echoes over the course of the next year.
Lord Of The Rings Moria
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
The War of the Ring has ended, and it’s time for you and your fellow dwarves to return the Mines of Moria to their former glory, i.e. before the Balrog killed everyone and stank up the place. Now’s your chance to unstink it with The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, one of the most inventive approaches to the survival genre we’ve seen. Up to eight dwarves can delve deep into the Mines of Moria, building bases and gathering resources. And don’t forget to try out the new sandbox mode while you’re enacting Gimli’s dream to rebuild.
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2
One of 2023’s boldest games, Alan Wake 2 sees the titular writer desperately trying to write his way back into the real world. Remedy layered in a whole heap of meta-commentary, new characters and mechanics, and even live-action sequences into this sequel, making Alan Wake 2 a twisty and wholly modern thriller. Don’t get lost in the Dark Place—our guide will help you out!

And the twists don’t stop when you’ve finished Alan Wake 2’s main story. Remedy recently dropped a surprise add-on to Alan Wake 2, available to owners of the Deluxe Edition. Read our cover story about Night Springs, Alan Wake 2’s first DLC.

These titles represent just a handful of all the great Summer Sale deals! Check out the Epic Games Store for way more, now through August 1.
