What big games are on sale?
To pick a handful:
Football Manager 26
This longtime simulation series received a massive overhaul this year, with a more detailed Match Day experience, the addition of fully-licensed Premier League teams and women’s football leagues, a redesigned interface, and more. New to managing a team? Get some help from our resident Football Manager 26 expert.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The holiday season lives on in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Swing through the snow-laden streets of New York City and keep its citizens safe from evildoers while Peter Parker enjoys a much-needed vacation.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
After nearly two decades, the long-running Assassin’s Creed series finally made its way to Japan last year. Assassin’s Creed Shadows tells the intertwining stories of two joint protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. Naoe, the stealthier of the pair, seeks to avenge her father’s murder with the help of Yasuke, a former slave turned samurai.
With picture-perfect recreations of iconic Japanese landmarks like Kiyomizu-dera and Himeji Castle, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a feast for the eyes—especially as the seasons progress through cherry blossoms, fall foliage, and new-fallen snow. Check out our guide if you need help getting started.
God of War Ragnarök
Normal winter won’t quite chill you as deeply as God of War Ragnarök’s Fimbulvetr, the period of three successive winters that heralds the coming of Ragnarök. Set three years after the previous game – Kratos and his son Atreus return to a frigid Midgard and travel across the Nine Realms. The Norse myth-inspired story sees them battling gods and mythic beasts as they strive to change the fate of the world.
Black Myth: Wukong
Do you have what it takes to stand against the gods? Find out in Black Myth: Wukong.
Loosely adapted from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong casts you as the Destined One, a monkey armed with a simple staff and the cunning and agility to use it. Hone your skills and take down dozens of bosses in this RPG that mashes up the flashy combat of an action game with the deliberateness of a Soulslike. Need some help? Check out our guide detailing the best skills to unlock.
Stellar Blade
Speaking of flashy combat, Stellar Blade is one of the most acclaimed action games in recent years. You play as EVE, sent to Earth from The Colony to try and reclaim humanity’s homeworld from the monstrous Naytibas—only to discover that the truth is a bit more complicated.
Combat in Stellar Blade is as stylish as it is brutal. Hack-and-slash your way through an array of monsters as you seek out what happened in ages past and attempt to save humankind from extinction. Our boss guide can help you through some of the trickier sections.
What hidden gems are on sale?
Check out some of our favorites:
Herdling
Guide a herd of fluffy Calicorns into the mountains in Herdling, the latest from FAR: Lone Sails developer Okomotive. This great migration includes many dangers, from narrow alpine paths to predatory animals and more. Do your best to shepherd the loveable Calicorns along the safest path so you can all reach the summit together.
Gloomy Eyes
Explore a world of eternal night in Gloomy Eyes, described by the developers as a “self-coop adventure.” You’ll control both the titular Gloomy (a zombie) and his companion Nena (a human) as they try to bring the daylight back—and bring an end to the long-running conflict between the living and undead. Gloomy Eyes is a sweet little adventure game, with art reminiscent of Tim Burton and levels that resemble little shoebox dioramas, packed with whimsical details.
Viewfinder
In this jaw-dropping puzzle game, you use an instant camera to take photos of the environment—the twist being that the photos you take can then be placed into the environment, reproducing all of the level geometry in 3D space. Clone items, create new paths, and more, all using a camera.
Biped 2
Travel to an uncharted planet in Biped 2, an innovative adventure game where movement is half the challenge.
In co-op, you and a friend take control of Aku and Sila, two adorable robots on a rescue mission. With only two limbs each, you’ll need to team up to move objects, activate buttons, jump across gaps, and more. It’s all about collaboration and communication, especially if you play in a group of four or even more. You can also experience this adventure solo if you’d like.
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a treat for stealth fans, with its isometric camera and ultra-detailed city inspired by early 1900s Scandinavia. You’ll play as Hanna, an orphan whose brother recently disappeared. Per usual, searching for Hanna’s brother uncovers a much larger conspiracy lying just beneath the surface. Use the shadows to move about unseen and avoid those who want to stop you from finding the truth.
Technotopia
Technotopia is a unique genre mashup, blending city-builder, card game, and roguelikes. Your goal is to design the perfect city, meeting the needs of your citizens and its four factions: the capitalists, aristocrats, politicians, and common people. Your card deck contains buildings, parks, highways, and all the other bits that make up a city. Every card you place comes with consequences, so choose carefully.
Alba - A Wildlife Adventure
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure whisks you away to a Spanish island where the titular Alba looks forward to spending a week with her grandparents, exploring the island and photographing its wildlife.
Unfortunately, she soon discovers that this island paradise is in imminent danger of being paved over. With the help of her grandfather and her friend Ines, Alba sets out to save this little slice of wilderness in a story about conservation and what we can do to help preserve our planet for future generations.
