For the next six weeks, fans of Riot Games, its fictional realms of Runeterra, and the games that take place there will get a chance to dive into a colorful alternate universe that is home to Soul Fighter.

As with previous year’s summer events, Riot Games pulled out all of the stops, creating a cross-game event that features new game modes, skins, and gameplay features across all four Riot Games set in Runeterra.

Where last year’s event – Star Guardian – was inspired by the magical girl genre , this year’s event is a tribute to fighting games and anime tournament arcs. In the alternate universe of the summer event, champions are participants in the Tournament of Souls, a competition hosted by the mysterious God’s Eye where fighters with extraordinary abilities battle it out until there is only one standing.

One of the key attractions for the event is the new game mode coming to League of Legends: Arena. In Arena, four teams of two players will fight one another in rotating rounds of combat until only one team is left standing. The combat takes place in four different battlefields of varying size, terrain density, and theme. Players will get a chance to power up with unique Augments between rounds, and occasionally champions from the Soul Fighter universe will make cameos in matches to help or hurt players.

League is also getting a new metagame where players take on the role of Tournament of Souls competitor Samira. Playing games of League allows players to face new opponents and unlock new abilities for Samira. The objective is to defeat all ten champions. Each victor unlocks the story and expert difficulty level, as well as granting players rewards.

Both Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends: Wild Rift will also be getting new modes and their own metagame or narrative experiences, while Legends of Runeterra gets new deck cosmetics and a new event pass.

The Soul Fighter cross-game summer event kicks off July 20 and runs through Aug. 28. You can pick up League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra in the Epic Games Store.
