Valorant is an intense, fast-paced FPS with long match times, especially in competitive play. Games can easily last around 40 minutes, and that can feel like an eternity when you’re stuck in a game that seems unwinnable. Sometimes the best thing to do is just hang out and wait for your deadly enemies to find you. After all, they might be smurfing. These are the best places around various maps to chill out and wait for your inevitable death.

Eat gelato and relax

Ascent has its very own gelato shop that's located on the attacker side of A site. There are plenty of flavors to choose from, and there are even tables outside that you can use to pretend like you’re relaxing on a sunny day with a delicious snack.

There’s also a cute pig hanging out there, too—it's printed on the side of the crate in front of the store. It may not be the most strategic location if you’re hoping to avoid enemies, but it’s at least a relatively calm spot on the map.

Hang with the fish

Pearl may look like a regular city, but the entire map is actually underwater. To pay homage to its undersea design, there’s a giant fish mural in the attacker’s spawn. Not only is this a visual treat, it’s actually a good place to hide from enemies.

There are several nooks and crannies here you can crouch in to make things tough for the opposing side. Plus, with so many entry points to the area, you should be able to catch rotating enemies with ease.

Visit the comic store

There are several stores in Valorant where you can window-shop, and the comic store on Split is one of the most notable. While you may not be able to go into the store, you can see a lot of its offerings through the window. You can spy character figures for Jett, Killjoy, and Reyna, and there are a lot of posters and actual comic books on display, too.

This is also a common area that people use to hide, so you’ll more than likely see an enemy you can snipe if you camp in the back corner.

Chill with Tactical Bear

The Tactical Bear was one of the first sprays in the game, and he’s made his way into various maps. However, one of his most prominent locations is at the arcade in Fracture. The cute little teddy is a mural on the wall, and you can sit beneath him to chill and taking out enemies at the same time.

Most people don’t expect a lurker in the arcade, so you can relax and wait for someone to show up, or just imagine a conversation with the bear. For more laughs, you can use the Tactical Bear spray to have a teddy bear convention.

Enjoy steamy pizza

Ascent may be known as Killjoy’s playhouse, but the star of the show is actually the pizza on the defender’s side of the map. This pizza isn’t just stacked with ingredients—if you look closely, you can see steam wafting up from the pie. The best pizza is hot pizza, and Ascent reminds you of that.

This is also a decent hiding spot, but it's also a common one. Stay alert if you hang out here.  

Take an (imaginary) stroll through the mountains

Haven doesn’t look like it’s surrounded by thriving scenery, but the attacker’s spawn actually has a mountain range just behind it. It’s gorgeous; gazing at it can take you on an imaginary journey through the mountainside.

This is also a good place to hide and pick enemies off from afar. You have access to the entire backside of the map from this area, so it’s a handy spot to camp with an accurate gun and take down an enemy or two.

Plan your next flight

If you want to take a jet right out of the game, then check out the flights on Split. This is located in the screens area near A site. The five different screens full of schedules give you plenty of trips to imagine taking.

While it’s fun to do—and you can spend a lot of time checking out all the flights—it’s generally not a great place to hide. However, if everyone is fighting on B site, you can get away with it.

Visit the Boss Turtle

There's a bike shop area near the attacker's spawn on Split. However, the giant head at the entrance of the shop makes it seem like it belongs to some kind of turtle gang. Unfortunately, you can’t actually enter the shop; you can only dream of riding a bike with your Valorant friends.

Considering almost no one spawn-camps here, this is actually a good spot to take enemies by surprise. Try hiding here sometime and see how it goes.

Relax at a temple

Whether you’re battling annoying enemies or dealing with toxic teammates, sometimes you need to take a breather. And there are few better places to do that than one of the temples on Lotus. The entire map is full of beautiful ruins and statues to admire, but the temple at the back of the attacker’s spawn is particularly nice. It has a calming aura that can be especially helpful when things get rough.

This can be a nice place to relax and reset, but it’s also a good spot to catch any lurking enemies. Just make sure you have eyes on several places at once, and don’t let your guard down.

Dive underwater with scuba gear

Fish murals aren’t the only nod to the fact that Pearl is underwater—in fact, there’s a whole scuba diving shop in the middle area of the attacker’s spawn. If you’re looking for the perfect recreational activity for the level's theme, then check the shop out. Of course, you can’t actually scuba dive, but it’s fun to pretend.

This is an unpredictable place to hide since it has so many open areas. However, it’s at least a fun spot on the map to run to if everyone else is on A site.
