Universe for Sale is a cozy narrative adventure set on a space station that floats among Jupiter’s clouds, where a mysterious woman crafts entire universes in the palms of her hands. 

The game involves exploring this otherworldly colony, from its oddity shops to its teahouses to the less glamorous parts of town. Everywhere you go, you’ll meet odd inhabitants and gradually uncover the mystery at the heart of this cozy game—which actually began life as a comic. 

“We didn’t set out to make a ‘cozy game,’” Tmesis Studio Art Director Zeno Colangelo told the Epic Games Store. “In fact, the story originally began as a comic I was developing years before. When Federico [Chiummento] and I started brainstorming ideas for a game, that old project resurfaced. It already had the tone, the pacing, and the intimacy that felt perfect for an interactive form. We just followed what felt right—a story that breathes, art that feels human. But maybe that’s exactly what cozy is: a refusal to rush, to overdesign, to overwhelm.” 

You can see Colangelo’s strong artistic style in every part of Universe for Sale, in every location and person, whether they’re human, simian, skeletal, or robotic. 

“My work has always revolved around finding a style that, no matter how strange or surreal, could still carry calm and relaxed vibes,” he said. “Universe for Sale grew naturally from that approach—a continuation of the same desire to create quiet, introspective worlds that feel handmade and alive. I’ve always been drawn to games that give space to small emotions and everyday beauty, that invite the player to slow down, to observe, and to feel something human behind the screen.”
