How is AI used in the gameplay?
AI is used to generate dynamic world simulation text, character behavior, dialogue, story events, and narrative descriptions. The game also uses rule-based simulation systems, while AI helps expand the world into richer and more varied interactions.
What technology powers the AI features?
AI-powered features use compatible third-party large language model API services selected by the player in the game's LLM Settings. Providers that support an OpenAI-compatible API format may be used if they work with the game's configuration.
Do players need to create an API key?
Yes. To use AI-powered features, players need their own compatible LLM API key. Players must create an account with an external AI service provider, create an API key on that provider's platform, and enter the key in the game's LLM Settings.
How much does the API key cost?
API costs are charged by the external AI service provider, not by the Epic Games Store and not by this product. The cost depends on the provider, model, pricing plan, and amount of gameplay usage. Players should review the provider's current pricing and billing terms before using AI-powered features.
How do players set up the API key in the game?
Players should choose a compatible AI service provider, create or sign in to an account with that provider, enable billing or obtain available quota if required, create an API key, then open the game's LLM Settings and paste the key into the API key field.
Can the product be used without off-platform purchases?
The product can be opened and may offer limited non-AI functionality without an external API key. Full AI-driven gameplay requires a compatible LLM API key with available quota or billing from an external AI service provider.
What happens when trial credits, free credits, quota, or billing access ends?
If the player's API quota, trial credits, free credits, paid credits, billing access, or API access ends, AI-powered features may stop working. The player will need to restore access with the external provider or enter another valid compatible API key.
Are there additional costs to play?
There may be additional costs for AI-powered gameplay because players need a compatible third-party LLM API key with available quota or billing. These costs are paid to the external AI service provider outside the Epic Games Store. This product does not sell API credits or process those payments.
How is AI-generated content moderated?
The product uses prompt constraints, structured generation rules, and in-game filtering where applicable to reduce unwanted or inappropriate AI-generated content. Because AI output is generated by third-party services and can vary by provider and model, moderation behavior may also depend on the selected AI service.
Is there a way to report or block unwanted AI-generated content?
Players can stop unwanted AI output by pausing or exiting the simulation, changing the selected model or provider, removing the API key, or leaving the API key field empty. Players can report product concerns through the Epic Games Store reporting tools. For issues related to a third-party AI provider's generated output, account, billing, or API access, players should also contact that provider.
Does the game send player input to third-party AI services?
When AI-powered features are used, relevant gameplay context and prompts may be sent to the selected third-party AI service provider in order to generate responses. Players should review the selected provider's privacy policy and terms before using AI-powered features.
Can players choose which AI provider or model to use?
Yes. Players can select a compatible provider or model preset in the game's LLM Settings. More capable models may provide better gameplay results, but pricing, availability, speed, and output quality depend on the selected external provider and model.
