How is blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency used in this product?

All core gameplay runs on standard servers and is completely off-chain. Blockchain (Ronin network) is used only for optional asset ownership — NFT collectibles (Dragon Rings, Factories) and the upcoming $WYRM token. All blockchain interactions happen through a separate browser dashboard, not inside the game client.

What utility does this bring to the product?

Dragon Rings unlock exclusive cosmetics and optional XP/drop-rate boosts. Factory NFTs serve as personal in-game apartments with production slots and $WYRM staking yield. The $WYRM token will power the Auction House, PvP wagers, Expeditions, and peer-to-peer trading.

Does this product have a marketplace? What can I do with the things that I earn or purchase?

There is no marketplace inside the game client. NFTs (Dragon Rings, Factories) can be traded on the Ronin Marketplace. The upcoming $WYRM token will enable peer-to-peer trading via an in-game Auction House. Cosmetic NFTs earned during playtests can be minted and kept or traded on-chain.

Is interacting with blockchain required to play?

No. Every dungeon, PvP mode, and feature is fully playable without blockchain interactions. A Ronin wallet is only needed to claim or trade on-chain assets.

What are the fees or costs associated with blockchain features?

Optional blockchain purchases (Gold, NFTs) are paid in crypto through the Calamity dApp — not through the Epic Games Store. Standard Ronin network gas fees apply and are typically very low.

What blockchain does this product use, and is there an environmental impact?

Calamity operates on the Ronin network, which uses Proof-of-Stake consensus — no energy-intensive mining required.

Can your product be used without making any in-app purchases?

Yes. Calamity is free-to-play. All dungeons, classes, PvP modes, and core features are accessible without spending anything.

Are in-app purchases refundable?

No. All blockchain-based purchases are final and non-refundable once the transaction is confirmed on-chain.

What is the current state of the game?

Calamity is in open beta. Playtests are announced on X (@PlayCalamity) and in the official Discord.
