Why Early Access?
Dead as Disco brings to life a combat fantasy so many of us have had: Brawling to the beat of your favorite killer track. Only through player feedback can we fulfill the full potential of this shared fantasy.
Your feedback is at the core of our development process. We’ve shown our commitment to this by keeping demo reviews public, running consistent pre-alpha playtests, and highlighting our progress on socials for years already.
Early Access is the next step. We can’t wait for you to join us on the journey ahead!
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We estimate around a year, and will adjust based on the feedback we receive. We also plan to update Early Access consistently with fixes, new idols, moves, music, and even more surprises.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The full version of Dead as Disco will expand on the already robust Early Access experience. We plan to add additional content, such as: the completion of the narrative campaign, new boss Idols, new skills & abilities, multiplayer co-op, more accessibility features, upgraded challenge tech & arenas, more rock star fashion & collectibles, the true end game, and ever more original and licensed music. Additionally, we plan major expansions to our UGC to allow players to build even more impressive music-matched experiences.
Players should also expect this plan to evolve over the course of Early Access, as iteration based on community feedback will greatly shape what we deliver for the full version of Dead as Disco.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
Dead as Disco already delivers hours of unforgettable action. Our innovative combat system transforms every fight into a music-matched spectacle, with Story Levels that play like interactive music videos. Take down bosses, unlock dozens of skills, cosmetics, and collectibles, and build your setlist from 25+ tracks—including licensed bangers and a streamer-safe OST. With “My Music,” you can even bring your own songs into the game and create custom challenges.
In addition, players should expect new content to be added to Early Access on a regular basis, expanding on all areas of the game.
Will the price change when the product leaves Early Access?
Yes, we plan to increase the price of the game as we make significant additions during Early Access.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
Community feedback is vital to our success. We’re already using it to shape the game, and Early Access allows us to do that with a wider audience. Our Discord server will be the primary place for us to look for feedback. We will also be keeping our eye on the in-game feedback forms, discussion pages, and other social media channels.
How often do you update the product?
Players should expect new content to be added to Early Access on a regular basis, with regular hot fixing, balance changes and new content patches every four to eight weeks.
Will I have access to the product during the entire Early Access phase?
Yes, we plan to allow Dead as Disco to be downable and playable for the entire Early Access period.
Is my progress saved between updates?
Yes, we will try to keep saved game files between updates. However, there may be rare scenarios where saves will need to be reset. If so we will inform players in advance.
Can I provide feedback and bug reports?
Dead as Disco thrives off community feedback! You can fill out an in game bug report or feedback survey. We are also highly active on the official Discord, and social channels.
