Why Early Access?
We are developing an ambitious and unique medieval monastery management game. Early Access allows us to work directly with our community to gather feedback, fine-tune the core gameplay, and gradually add new content, mechanics, and world events to help the game reach its full potential.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We plan to remain in Early Access for roughly 18 months. However, this timeline may shift depending on community feedback and the scope of new features introduced during development.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
We plan for the full version of Monastery: Ora et Labora to feature expanded content shaped by community feedback throughout Early Access. We will add more monastery buildings, production chains, decorations, and world events, along with new mechanics focused on monastic life, spirituality, trade, and relationships within the community.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The Early Access version offers a fully playable and engaging foundation that expands upon our playtested demo. Currently, the game includes:
Monk Management: Oversee a group of monks, each with unique traits affecting their work and behavior.
Farming & Agriculture: Grow wheat, barley, gruit, hops, and medicinal herbs.
Crafting & Production: Produce mead, four types of beer, medicines, and essential goods like soup, bread, honey, and beeswax.
Monastery Life & Care: Heal people in need, welcome worshippers during mass, and fulfill requests from the local community.
Trade & Economy: Trade resources and crafted goods with visiting merchants.
Building & Survival: Customize and expand your monastery with decorative items, while facing adverse environmental events like droughts and pest infestation.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Yes. We plan to offer a lower price during Early Access to reward players who support us early. The price will likely increase upon full launch as new content and features are added.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
Community feedback is essential to our development. We actively gather suggestions, bug reports, and balance ideas through our official Discord server, and in-game feedback tools. We will regularly publish updates and roadmaps to keep players informed and involved in every step of the journey
Will I have access to the product during the entire Early Access phase?
Yes. Players who purchase the game during Early Access will have continuous access throughout the entire Early Access period and will receive all updates and new content released during this phase.
