Why Early Access?
As a two person development team, we put immense value into community feedback. We plan on leveraging Early Access to address balance changes, squash bugs, update mechanics, and use community feedback to prep for future content. Early Access members are a critical part of our strategy in fully completing RBA.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We are planning to be in Early Access for about two years after the Early Access launch. However, community feedback will help us narrow in on a more solid timeline, so we may extend or reduce the time in Early Access as we receive feedback.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
A component of Early Access development will be dedicated to creating levels, enemies, and game content that will only appear after Early Access. The design of this content will be based on the feedback and engagement we get from the community. We are also planning on implementing the coding framework for seasonal events and updates for the full 1.0 release
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
RBA Early Access players can expect about half of the content compared to the full 1.0 release. We intend on providing a fulfilling gaming experience during Early Access. With that said, some mechanics may need reworking, bugs will be found, and the end and post-end game content is very very likely to change over time.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
We want the maximum number of players to provide feedback on our Early Access builds, so we plan on pricing Early Access at a reduced rate in comparison to our intended full release price. We hope the reduced price will encourage savvy rogueliters to join and provide critical feedback.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
The whole reason we decided to launch into Early Access is for community involvement! Send your thoughts about RBA any way you can: Discord, email, carrier pigeon, Morse code, or Scout Regiment signal flares.
But seriously, the easiest way to get involved is joining our Discord or the RBA Steam Forums. Feedback through the channels listed above allows for discussion and input from other players. We love collaboration and building off of each other’s ideas and suggestions. No idea is dumb. All feedback is valuable to us. We may not be able to implement everything suggested, but fostering a community where ideas are valued and embraced is one of our top priorities.
This is your time to influence the design of a game in the wonderful genre of roguelites.
