Why Early Access?
As a Free-To-Play game, any player can download and try out StoneHold without making any purchases. However, StoneHold is a unique blend of MOBA + CCG. It's critical that we balance the various Wardens and card abilities and perform large scale stress testing of our servers. That cannot be achieved without showing the game in its current state to the community. We're launching StoneHold in Early Access to ensure the game delivers the best possible experience at release.
How long is Early Access likely to run for?
As long as needed, we expect at least 1 year.
What content is included?
Even in Early Access, StoneHold is a feature complete game. It includes 5 launch Wardens and Set 1 cards with our main multiplayer mode, vanity skins for characters and weapons, and more!
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
Over the coming months, we are planning to add and balance 5 more Wardens and several new sets of cards. This means the full launch of StoneHold will be roughly double the size of the current game during Early Access.
Will there be wipes during Early Access?
While we may reset progression for testing purposes, all paid purchases made during Early Access will be permanent.
Will the game be free-to-play when fully released?
Yes, once the game is out of Early Access, StoneHold will be free-to-play.
Are you planning to involve the players in your development process?
We need the community to give us feedback about game balance, the economy, and the overall game. We will be actively monitoring our discord, forums, subreddit and social media and delivering updates continuously throughout the Early Access.
Are there items (such as additional content, offers or currency) for sale that are used in the gameplay of your product?
StoneHold has three in-game currencies: Silver, Gold, and Shards. Players can use either Silver or Gold to buy most items from the in-game store. Silver is earned through in-game activity, but Gold can be purchased directly. Shards are part of our card crafting system. Duplicate cards can be destroyed to gain Shards. Both Silver and Gold can be used to buy Wardens and card packs that lie at the heart of our gameplay.
Can your product be used without making any in-app purchases?
yes! StoneHold is fully free-to-play. We will always have a selection of free Wardens available, and players can generate and play temporary decks with cards/skills they don't own for 72 hours at a time. Free players can still earn Silver from regular gameplay along with the same rewards as paying players, and Silver can be used for most purchases to advance progress and collect cards. Temporary decks can be modified with cards the player owns.
Are in-app purchases refundable?
No. Due to the nature of blind reveal card packs, we cannot refund in-app purchases.
What payment platform is used to facilitate these purchases? Do you use Epic Games’ platform or a 3rd-party (including your own) payment system?
Players can purchase Gold through Epic Games or our own platform, GamersFirst.com. Gold is used in-game to buy any of the premium items including Wardens, cosmetics, and card packs.
