Why Early Access?

Much like growing a veggie, it takes a good amount of time, care and nurture to grow a healthy community around a new game. As developers, we have experienced the process of going from an idea straight to the final product in the past, which taught us a valuable lesson about the importance of player-driven feedback.

Choosing to integrate Early Access into our development process gives us the time to allow our ideas to flourish, the opportunity to meet a community who cares about the game, and the ability to nurture and improve it through real-time feedback before it reaches its final form.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

We estimate about 6 to 12 months from our Early Access release date, but we’re really aiming for a Halloween full release!

While Early Access can be an amazing tool for super small indie teams like us, we also understand that its success relies equally on trust and the expectancy of a good, finished product. This estimate gives us enough time to embrace your feedback and not keep you waiting for any longer than necessary.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Besides the sneak peek into our roadmap below, you can expect more of what you will already be able to enjoy right now! That means more veggies to grow, more biomes to discover, more bosses to fight, more activities to explore and more story to unfold.

Here are a few hints of the main content patches we already have planned (in no particular order):

listIgor the Glutton
*Miss Dawn
*Cave Dwellings
*Constructibles
*Pacifist Mode
*Boss Rush Mode
*Seasonal Events

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

We can confidently say that we’re releasing into Early Access with a well-polished veggie-loving vampire, eager for adventure!

These are some of the features already available in the game:

list8 cool bosses to defeat
*8 whimsy biomes to explore
*6 weather effects to overcome
*A skill tree with 60 modifiers to pick from
*A choice of 15 passive boons to progress
*Over 20 veggies to grow
*A handful of neat costumes to unlock
*An introduction to the storyline
*Full controller support
*Split-screen local co-op
*Lots of humor

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Yes, we will be offering the game at a lower price during Early Access.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Let there be feedback! While the main source for general information, bug reports and feedback will likely be our pinned discussions on Steam, you can (and should!) get directly in touch with us through our Discord channel, where we’ll share ideas, answer questions, and just hang out on a daily basis!

But whether you choose to write a report, record a review or join us for a community call on Discord, the important part is that you have your feedback heard - and sincerely appreciated - directly by the whole team working on Voltaire.
