Best Battlefield 6 sniper loadouts and class setups guide

Sniping is an incredibly popular playstyle in the Battlefield series, and with Battlefield 6's new "open loadouts," you can now use sniper rifles with any of the game's four classes.
Recon (traditionally Battlefield's sniper class) isn't always the best choice for a sniper in Battlefield 6, especially since some of the other classes have helpful gadgets that can provide intel or secure areas for your squad. Sticking with Recon will net you some sniper-specific buffs however, so there's a tradeoff to consider.
In this Battlefield 6 guide, we'll cover some of the best sniper loadouts and class setups you can put together to dominate the battlefield.
Frontline ghost

This sniper loadout uses the Assault class to take advantage of its Deploy Beacon gadget, letting you push behind enemy lines and secure strategic spawn locations for your squad.
- Primary: M2010 ESR
- Optic: S-VSP 6.00x
- Optic Accessory: Canted Reflex
- Ammo: Match Grade

- Underbarrel: Slim Angled
- Barrel: 24" Fluted
- Muzzle: Lightened Suppressor

- Muzzle: Flash Hider
- Top Accessory: 5 MW Red Laser

The main idea behind this build is getting you behind enemy lines so you can place a Deploy Beacon that gets your squad into a better position. This M2010 ESR sniper build is designed with quick, quiet takedowns in mind, and you can swap to its canted reflex sight in a pinch if enemies get too close.

If you're really in trouble, you can swap to your M4A1 carbine. Battlefield 6 thankfully lets you swap out a gadget for a weapon, so you can have an automatic rifle in your kit alongside your sniper rifle. The M4A1 is perfect for close-range encounters, and you won't have to worry about controlling its recoil since your sniper has long-range shootouts covered.
This loadout also takes advantage of some of the Assault class's other benefits, like the Assault Ladder. You can use it to climb to a hidden sniping position or create a makeshift ramp on vehicles or fences, creating a safe shooting position that'll catch enemies off guard. The Sledgehammer melee weapon can also be used to smash holes in walls for creative sniping positions.

As the cherry on top, the Frontliner Training Path boosts the effectiveness of your Deploy Beacon, giving Adrenaline Injector buffs to any allies that spawn on you or your gadgets.
Long-range sniper

This is a classic sniper loadout that takes advantage of the Recon class's skillset for long-range takedowns.
- Primary: M2010 ESR
- Optic: NFX 8.00x
- Optic Accessory: Anti Glare (AG) Coating
- Ammo: Match Grade
- Magazine: 5 RND
- Left Accessory: Range Finder
- Underbarrel: Bipod
- Barrel: 26" Carbon
- Muzzle: Compensated Brake
- Secondary: P18 (Any Attachments)
- Gadget 1: AP Mine
- Gadget 2: Demolition Charge
- Throwable: Proximity Detector
- Melee: Combat Knife
- Training Path: Sniper
With this setup, you can find a safe position and take out targets from extreme distances while your teammates focus on capturing objectives and pushing forward.

The Recon class has boosted sniper rifle proficiency as well, so you'll have reduced weapon sway, quicker rechambering between shots, and better breath control, meaning steadier aim by default. If you can land your shots, you'll be an invisible force that gives your team an edge on the battlefield.
The M2010 ESR sniper rifle is the star of this loadout yet again, but the attachment set up looks different this time. An 8x scope is a necessity to keep track of long-range targets, but there are quite a few to choose from. Test them out in the firing range and see which one you prefer.

The Anti Glare Coating in the Optic Accessory slot will keep you hidden from vengeful enemies seeking your sniper glint, which is the bane of all long-distance snipers. As long as you relocate often, enemies will have a hard time keeping track of your movements.
To help you hit those long-range snipes, the 26" Carbon barrel and Compensated Brake muzzle attachments will increase your bullet velocity and reduce the weapon's recoil so you can waste less time lining up shots. For those really tough shots, you can deploy the underbarrel Bipod to keep your rifle steady.
The Range Finder attachment is the cornerstone of this sniper loadout. If you zero your scope while the Range Finder is equipped, it'll automatically set the zeroing to the distance of where your crosshair is aimed. That way, you won't have to worry about bullet drop or calculating ranges on the fly.

Apart from the sniper rifle itself, the AP Mine and Proximity Sensor gadgets will help you secure your sniping position and prevent anyone from sneaking up on you. This loadout also comes equipped with C4 demolition charges that can easily take out a tank if you're able to get close enough.
Finally, the Sniper Training Path gives you some key buffs that'll make long-distance sniping much easier. Damaging enemies will automatically mark them for your allies, and auto-spotting has increased distance and a wider angle. You can also call in a UAV Overwatch to provide further intel for your team, and enemies killed with headshots can't be revived by their allies.
Overwatch engineer

Blurring the lines between sniper and engineer, this loadout specializes in shutting down enemy armor and locking down chokepoints.
- Primary: M39 EMR
- Optic: PVQ-31 4.00x
- Ergonomics: Mag Catch
- Ammo: Hollow Point
- Magazine: 20 RND Fast Mag
- Underbarrel: Canted Stubby
- Barrel: 22" Factory
- Muzzle: Flash Hider
- Secondary: P18 (Any Attachments)
- Gadget 1: RPG-7V2
- Gadget 2: Anti-Vehicle Mine
- Throwable: Anti-Vehicle Grenade
- Melee: Sledgehammer
- Training Path: Anti-Armor
With this setup, you'll fight on the frontlines alongside your allies. Your main job will be destroying enemy tanks and vehicles so your team can move up and secure objectives. The Engineer class specializes in SMGs, but you'll be able to keep a safe distance with your DMR.
The M39 EMR is a three-shot body kill or a two-tap to the head, so it's a monster in the right hands. The default 4x scope is great, but you can experiment with others in the firing range to see if you prefer something else. The Canted Stubby underbarrel grip will keep the weapon stable, so just look for a scope with a nice sight picture and crosshair.

You'll be able to keep your distance with the 22" Factory barrel, and the Flash Hider muzzle attachment will help you remain hidden since it reduces your presence on the minimap and prevents in-world spotting entirely. Since you won't have as much heat on you, you can spend more time lining up headshots. They'll deal extra damage thanks to this loadout's Hollow Point ammunition, too.
If a tank is blocking the path forward for your team, you can bust out your RPG to deal some serious damage. As long as you have a squadmate running Support so you can stay supplied, enemy armor won't stand a chance. The RPG's rockets deal bonus damage to the sides, top, and rear of tanks, so use your DMR to push forward and get a good angle. Anti-Vehicle Grenades can finish off those tanks if you run out of rockets.

Once an area is secure, place Anti-Vehicle Mines on central roadways and key flanking routes. Enemies never check for mines, so you'll rack up plenty of kills from careless drivers on the enemy team. Again, ask your teammates for ammo so you can keep spreading these across the battlefield.
Destruction is a great way to flank the enemy team and take out vehicles, but you'll still want to keep things low-key so you don't bring down an entire building and draw the enemies' attention. That's where the Sledgehammer comes in. Use it to burst through walls without leveling buildings and destroying all your cover.

Finally, the Anti-Armor Training Path boosts your anti-vehicle capabilities even further. You'll have faster reload speeds with all launchers, and you'll carry two extra rockets in your ammo reserves. Any vehicles you damage will also receive less healing from enemy engineers, buying you time to reload your launchers or finish off tanks with Anti-Vehicle Grenades.
