By Craig Pearson, Contributor

The Coming Soon section of the Epic Games Store brims with potential. 2025 looks set to be a great year for both brand-new games and AAA sequels, and you can wishlist every one in our store. We’re just leaving January behind—a January that delivered Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Eternal Strands, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2—and February (and beyond) will only give us more incredible games to play.

A surprising number of AAA titles below have taken bold steps to shake up their core experiences. From a new Football Manager to an adventurous Assassin’s Creed, there’s some real change in the air this year. And there are welcome newcomers on the horizon. Where Dante-inspired dungeon raids lead the way, a cyberpunk slice of life sim follows.

Let’s take a look into gaming’s future.

33 Immortals

Release Date: Coming Soon
We’ve said a lot already about this striking co-op roguelike that brings 33 players together to battle through the angels and demons of Dante’s The Divine Comedy. We’ve talked about what it’s like being part of a 33-player dungeon raid. We’ve delved into the inspiration behind the game’s gorgeous art. We’ve even talked to the developers about their Adam and Eve boss battle—but it feels like we’ve only scratched the surface of the team’s ambitions.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Release Date: February 2
Return to medieval Bohemia and pick up Henry’s sword and shield once again. This open-world RPG is as much a simulation of medieval life as it is a game, revelling in the low-tech nature of life in the early 15th century. One mission even sees the player wading through human feces to find the corpse of his friend. This is not your typical power fantasy, and players will have to master realistic fighting techniques if they want to survive.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

Release Date: February 11
A bold new direction for the enduring strategy series, Civilization VII seeks to shake up the game by introducing Ages to the lengthy games of conquest, breaking the action up into distinct eras for players to explore: Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern. Each has different Civilizations, Resources, Tech, and more. Players will now have new challenges—and even become a new Civilization—with each new Age, turning progress into chapters of strategic evolution and discovery.

Split Fiction

Release Date: March 6
Split Fiction is another unique co-operative title from the developers of It Takes Two. Two writers get dragged into their stories and have to escape—except they’re strangers, with one writing sci-fi and the other writing fantasy. Levels don’t just swap genres, but mechanics too, with the players battling together through third-person action-adventures, side-scrolling platformers, and more.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

Release Date: March 4
A harrowing (yet strangely touching) post-apocalyptic journey—and winner of more than 300 Game of the Year awards—is remastered and finally comes to PC. Ellie takes centre stage in this lauded sequel, surviving a brutal attack on her community and leaving to seek revenge among the twisted, fungus-infected creatures. It’s a huge package, and in addition to the campaign, you’ll receive the combat-driven roguelike survival mode No Return, Lost Levels that give you a look at the development process, and more.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Release Date: March 20
We’re so close to the first Assassin’s Creed set in feudal Japan! Assassin’s Creed Shadows has two lead characters (a shinobi assassin and a samurai) who you can swap between at any time, an interactive world that lets you snuff out lights or batter down doors and walls, and a beautifully rendered map to explore. They’re still tweaking this tentpole title ahead of release, but we’re nearly there.

Football Manager 25

Release Date: March
The biggest update in Football Manager’s history pushed its release back into 2025. The new Unity-powered match engine should make your view from the dugout better than ever. The famously in-depth player roster will now include women’s teams for the first time, too. Kick-off for the massive simulation is scheduled for March.

Killing Floor 3

Release Date: March
Co-op carnage is Killing Floor’s forte, and the third game doesn’t let up. Filled with gory battles against mutated foes, up to five people can blast the flesh from the bodies of the Zeds (they come apart!), tweaking weapons with a new mod system that’ll give you maximum control over your favorite gun and its upgrades.

Kingmakers

Release Date: Coming Soon
Bring modern weaponry to medieval battlefields and see how the tide turns. A small group of time travellers are sent back to take over the 16th century using high-tech weapons and vehicles. The thousands of combatants don’t stand a chance, as bullets tear through armor and castles crumble from rocket blasts.

Nivalis

Release Date: 2025
A slice-of-life sim set in a stunning cyberpunk world, this is your chance to live in the towering, neon-soaked city of Nivalis. The voxel-carved streets, alleys, and walkways invite you to explore, meet unique characters, and uncover the secrets of this sprawling metropolis. Open a noodle bar, go fishing, customize your apartment, or simply stroll and capture breathtaking photos to pass the time. Immerse yourself in a richly detailed world.

Subnautica 2

Release Date: Coming Soon
The previous two Subnautica games formed a perfectly realised survival series, slowly unveiling a mysterious underwater world as the player’s capabilities grew. A sequel to the smash-hit was always likely. Subnautica 2 brings players to a new planet to explore, with the teaser trailer showing off a reef brimming with life and creatures with far too many glowing limbs. As the player explores deeper, we see they’re not alone—Subnautica 2 supports co-op!

Wrekless

Release Date: 2025
Free Range Games’ “love letter to skateboarding culture” lets up to 50 people play together, bringing the camaraderie of a real-world skatepark online. The game allows players to simultaneously build parks while they play, letting them test out ideas—or troll friends—on the fly. Imagine skating along, enjoying your session, and then BAM! A half-pipe appears. This, plus the extreme level of character customization, makes Wrekless a DIY paradise.

Dying Light: The Beast

Release Date: Coming Soon
Step out of The City in this standalone return to Dying Light. Playing once more as the series’ original protagonist Kyle Crane, you’ll explore Castor Woods, a former tourist destination. No tourists here now—but there are villages filled with the infected, and plenty of places to parkour around (and over). Kyle’s sacrifice in the original Dying Light has led him to develop a mutation of his own, becoming the titular Beast.

Borderlands 4

Release Date: Coming Soon
A brief glimpse into the future of the Borderlands franchise showed off four new Vault Hunters, the new planet of Kairos with a seamless open-world (all the previous games had huge but discrete levels), and the usual mess of mutants and mayhem. More to come, but Gearbox has never failed to deliver yet.

RoadCraft

Release Date: Coming Soon
Saber Interactive has been slowly building the technology underpinning Roadcraft across a number of titles, revving a new engine while giving us SnowRunner and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game. RoadCraft builds on both, turning the player into a high-level disaster relief manager tasked with guiding a fleet of rescue drivers and operatives to rebuild. You’ll still get stuck in the mud, but you’ll also be responsible for guiding a full-scale response to whatever the game throws at you.

Thick As Thieves

Release Date: 2025
Stealing trinkets without being caught is hard enough in a singleplayer game, but Warren Spector’s Thick As Thieves brings competitive multiplayer into the trap-filled mansions where you ply your trade. The living world, a city filled with the lootable lairs of the wealthy, attracts multiple thieves to missions, who could strike at any point. Deep planning for the security systems is all good—but another player could swoop in and grab the lot as you're executing your ideas. Keep an eye on this one, it looks great.

Screamer

Release Date: 2025
A stylish reboot of a classic DOS racer, the new version of Screamer keeps the high-octane muscle cars and adds some anime flash to the game. Neon and chrome vehicles scream along the streets, and every race is a personal battle. There’s even “fighting mechanics," though we assume that refers to mechanics in the beat ‘em up sense and not the actual garage owners.

MENACE

Release Date: 2025
Everything is against you in MENACE, a strategic and tactical RPG from the creators of Battle Brothers. You lead a strike team in a distant system cut off from the Core Worlds, leaving you in charge of the training, recruitment, and deployment of your troops, while trying to unite the locals with your military might. Featuring procedurally generated missions and characters with unique backstories that affect their performance, MENACE will deploy late 2025.

ARC Raiders

Release Date: Coming Soon
A dust-blown Earth. Machines stalking the lands. The “Raiders” of the title are teams who scavenge what’s left of a planet’s resources, zip-lining across broken cities and hunting for loot. Of course there’s more to it. Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter, meaning there’s more than one team hunting for treasure, which turns each mission into a survival shoot-out for the best stuff.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

Release Date: 2025
Magic and mythology come together in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, a Soulslike set in the Ming Dynasty. Lead character Wuchang must master an armory full of weapons and magical powers to defeat powerful enemies, linking her skills and swords together to perform devastating combos. Every glimpse we’ve had makes it look spectacular, intricate, and like a potential blockbuster.

Judas

Release Date: Coming Soon
Bioshock’s Ken Levine returns with another messed-up immersive sim and narrative adventure, this time set aboard a disintegrating colony ship called the Mayflower. The mission is to carry humanity to a new world—but everything has gone wrong. The three leaders of the ship are vying for power, and you can join (or abandon) any of their causes. It’s a game filled with choices, hackable robotic enemies, and Bioshock-style powers and weapons.

Splitgate 2

Release Date: Coming Soon
Halo with portals” proved to be an excellent twist for multiplayer mayhem, enabling players to sneak through vast levels and turn well-trod strategies upside-down. The second game in the series will allow for more customization, taking pointers from hero shooters and adding factions with their own unique playstyles and boosts, from deployable barriers and extra ammo to speed boosts.

That’s just a slice of what’s coming to the Epic Games Store in 2025 and beyond. Check out the store and don’t forget to wishlist!
