Geoff Keighley, el anfitrión de The Game Awards, reveló este lunes los nominados del año 2022 y God of War Ragnarök lidera las nominaciones. Ragnarök se hizo con 10 nominaciones en una lista que incluye 108 juegos, personas, equipos y eventos repartidos en 31 categorías.

Los nominados al Juego del Año de 2022 son: A Plague Tale: Requiem (Asobo Studio/Focus Entertainment), Elden Ring (FromSoftware/Bandai Namco), God of War Ragnarök (Sony Santa Monica/SIE), Horizon Forbidden West (Guerrilla Games/SIE), Stray (BlueTwelve Studio/Annapurna Interactive) y Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Monolith Soft/Nintendo).

Sony Interactive Entertainment es la editora más nominada con 20 nominaciones combinando todo su repertorio de juegos, seguido de Annapurna Interactive y Nintendo con 11. 

Los nominados son seleccionados por un jurado de más de 100 medios de comunicación de todo el mundo. También se convocan jurados especializados para otras categorías entre las que se incluyen eSports, accesibilidad y mejor adaptación. Los ganadores se determinan mediante una votación mixta entre los votos del jurado (90 %) y los votos del público (10 %). 

En 2021, The Game Awards alcanzó un récord de 85 millones de retransmisiones en directo. The Game Awards 2022, la novena celebración mundial de la industria de los videojuegos, se transmitirá en directo de forma gratuita a través de más de 40 plataformas de video digital, como YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Steam, Facebook, TikTok Live y, por primera vez en su historia, Instagram Live.
