《Alan Wake 2》和《Baldur’s Gate 3》在 The Game Awards 打成平手，共享提名榜冠军宝座

Nintendo 是 2023 年 The Game Awards 获得最多提名的发行商，其旗下游戏共获 15 项提名。紧随其后的是获得 13 项提名的 Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation、获得 10 项提名的 Xbox（包括 Bethesda 和 Blizzard 在内），以及获得 9 项提名的 Epic Games——同时也是获得提名次数最多的第三方发行商。 荣获此次评选提名的包括 112 款游戏、个人、团队和活动，它们各自代表了不同的游戏风格与平台。
这些获得提名者由全世界 100 多家媒体和网络自媒体组成的评审团选拔出来。 此外还有专家评审团对其他类别的游戏进行评选，比如电子竞技游戏、无障碍游戏以及最佳改编游戏。 胜者将由评审团（占 90%）以及公开粉丝投票（占 10%）的混合投票决定。
2022 年，The Game Awards 进行了创纪录的 1.03 亿次直播，比去年增长 20%。 而今年，也就是 2023 年 The Game Awards，是游戏业界的第 10 次全球盛会，将于 YouTube、Twitch、Twitter、Steam，Facebook、TikTok Live 等 40 多个不同的数字视频平台进行免费直播，并且也将首次在 Instagram Live 上进行直播。 此次盛典将于北京时间 12 月 8 日晚上 8:30 点拉开帷幕。
