While not every game on this list uses the same real-time mechanics as everyone's favorite animal-themed lifestyle management sim, each title nails the vibe with farming, friendships, and a cozy mood. Some can even be played in co-op, letting you share your little slice of life with friends. These are the best games like Animal Crossing on the Epic Games Store.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
The closest to a clone on this list, Disney Dreamlight Valley is basically just Animal Crossing but with Disney characters. It ditches the real time clock, but everything else is there.
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll befriend Disney icons like Mickey Mouse, Aladdin, and Peter Pan while farming, fishing, and building your own little town. There are quite a few quests to complete as well, and since there's no real-time clock holding you back, your play sessions will rarely get cut short by time gates.
There's also DLC available that adds even more characters to the valley, including Tinker Bell, Rapunzel, and EVE from WALL-E. The most recent expansion, Wishblossom Ranch, even lets you befriend and ride customizable horses.
Cozy Grove
Cozy Grove is very similar to Animal Crossing, even keeping the real-time clock that the Nintendo franchise is known for. Unlike Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll only get one or two hours of daily play out of Cozy Grove before running out of activities.
If you're willing to meet the game halfway and check in daily, you'll be rewarded with one of the closest matches to Animal Crossing on PC. Tending to a haunted campsite, you'll befriend dozens of spirits while collecting spirit animals, going fishing, and crafting decorations for your little haven.
The Sims 4
The Sims 4 can also scratch that Animal Crossing itch, as long as you think of the phrase "life sim" in a more literal sense. The Sims is a classic series that needs no introduction, but did you know that The Sims 4 is now completely free to play?
You can jump in and enjoy the base game for free without any restrictions. There's a boatload of DLC and expansions waiting if you want to upgrade, too.
It may not be a one-to-one copy of Animal Crossing, but The Sims 4 is one of the coziest games on the market. Build a little family, customize their dream home, and enjoy a small slice of suburban life. The Enchanted by Nature expansion pack adds fairies and new skills for maximum coziness, too.
MySims Cozy Bundle
A cult classic spinoff, MySims originally released back on the Wii and DS. A remastered version is bundled with its sequel MySims Kingdom on Epic Games Store, and it's much more like Animal Crossing than the mainline series.
MySims is all about customization, and you'll spend most of your time whipping up custom furniture and housing items for the town's residents. If the building and decoration aspects of Animal Crossing are your favorite, then you'll have a blast with MySims.
Palia
Palia is an MMO life sim that's completely free to play. You can join together with friends or play alone, developing skills, crafting furniture, and bonding with the locals at your own pace.
This is the perfect option if you're looking for something to occupy a huge chunk of your time. Since it's an MMO, Palia has a lot of things to grind. Building relationships with NPCs will take a while, but nothing's stopping you from spending hours fishing, mining, or crafting to level up your skills.
Don't let the MMO tag scare you off, though. There's no combat in Palia, and you don't have to worry about other players getting mad at you for anything. Just enjoy your cozy life and maybe help some other people along the way.
My Time at Sandrock
Another fan-favorite life sim, My Time at Sandrock tasks you with rebuilding a rundown desert town. You can easily lose dozens upon dozens of hours to Sandrock thanks to its wide array of activities.
In addition to a lengthy main story, My Time at Sandrock also features building, crafting, farming, fishing, holidays, dungeons, and more. It's perfect for those who love Stardew Valley. There's so much to do that it can seem overwhelming at first, but you can do everything at your own pace and completely ignore certain parts of the game if you don't like them.
The residents of Sandrock are also great, and you're bound to like at least a few of them after spending a few hours in town. If you really like one of them, there's even a romance system so you can settle down with that special someone.
Bear and Breakfast
For those who love the decorating aspects of Animal Crossing, Bear and Breakfast allows you to build a bustling bed and breakfast in the heart of the woods. Every aspect of the business is yours to customize, and your guests will appreciate the fine details.
Bear and Breakfast may be a management game at its core, but it's incredibly laid-back and doesn't require a lot of hard decisions. You can run things as you see fit, building a cozy little safe haven for the forest's residents.
You can also venture out into the forest yourself to meet new creatures and unlock new guests. Don't expect combat or anything like that, though. This is a cozy game through and through, and it's hard to not have a smile on your face while playing.
Farming Simulator 25
Do you wish Animal Crossing was a bit more realistic? Say no more. Farming Simulator 25 is the most realistic farming simulation out there, and you can even play it with friends.
It's a far cry from Animal Crossing's laid-back coziness, but if you're really into the farming aspects and ever-changing turnip trade, you might fall in love with Farming Simulator 25. You can even raise cute little animals and ride horses!
There's a very steep learning curve with Farming Simulator 25, however, and it'll take a few hours to truly get the hang of things. Thankfully, there's a wealth of in-game tutorials that'll help you learn the ropes, and you can adjust the difficulty to make things more forgiving.
