ASTRO BOT et FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH ont le même nombre de nominations aux Game Awards 2024

Sony Interactive Entertainment a été l'éditeur le plus nominé pour cette édition des Game Awards, avec 16 nominations, suivi par Square Enix et Xbox avec une douzaine chacun, puis Sega avec 11 nominations.
Un jury composé de plus de 130 organes de presse et d'influenceurs des quatre coins du monde sélectionne les nominés. Des jurys spécialisés sont également convoqués pour d'autres catégories comme l'e-sport, l'accessibilité et la meilleure adaptation. Les vainqueurs sont déterminés d'après un vote global rassemblant le vote du jury (90%) et le vote du public (10%).
En 2023, les Game Awards avaient enregistré un record de 118 millions de diffusions en direct, une augmentation de 14% par rapport à l'année précédente. Les Game Awards 2024, 11e célébration annuelle et internationale du jeu vidéo, seront diffusés gratuitement sur plus de 40 plateformes, dont YouTube, Twitch, X, Steam, Facebook, TikTok Live et Instagram Live. Le spectacle commencera le 13 décembre à 1h30 (heure centrale européenne).
