Why is Aftertide in Early Access?
Aftertide is in active development. Early Access lets players try the current survival sandbox while combat animation, world polish, performance and online play continue to be tested and improved. Please make your purchase decision based on the content available now, not on possible future features.
What is the current state of the product?
The Windows development build includes solo survival and online co-op for up to four players, zombie encounters, missions, scavenging, drivable vehicles and city and coastal exploration. Online co-op, voice chat, animations, balance and performance are still being validated for public release. Bugs, balance issues and unfinished elements may be present.
How long will Early Access last, and what is planned?
No final-release date is announced. Development priorities include more consistent character and weapon animation, world and road polish, performance, and online co-op validation. Priorities and scope may change based on testing; this is not a guarantee of particular future content or a delivery date.
Which platforms and controls does this release support?
This release is for 64-bit Windows PC with keyboard and mouse controls. An in-game controls guide and adjustable graphics and HUD settings are available. Performance and supported options depend on your hardware; consult the store system requirements before purchase.
Do I need an Epic account or an internet connection to play?
You can continue without Epic sign-in to play solo. Epic online co-op and Epic achievements require an Epic account, sign-in and an internet connection. Sign in when the game starts; a successful sign-in is reused rather than requested again. Choose Solo or Co-op in the lobby. Co-op searches for a compatible open expedition; if none is available, you host one that other players can join, up to four players total. All players need compatible game versions. Voice chat is optional and requires an explicit Join Voice action.
Are the included cosmetics free, and how are saves handled?
The cosmetic styles included in this Epic edition can be selected in-game without an additional purchase. Game saves are stored locally. Cloud-save support and compatibility of saves with every future development update are not guaranteed, so keep a backup of saves you want to preserve.

Will I have access to the product during the entire Early Access phase?
Yes. Players who purchase Aftertide: Lost Depth Survival during Early Access will retain access throughout the Early Access phase and receive the full base game at release without purchasing it again. We plan to update this same Epic Games Store listing as the game develops and transitions out of Early Access.
