Why Early Access?
The Last Caretaker is already fully playable and has a strong foundation in place. We’re using Early Access to expand the world, deepen its systems, and refine the experience with direct input from players.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We plan to stay in Early Access for at least 12 months. The timeline will depend on development progress and player feedback. Our priority is to build a polished and immersive experience, and we’ll take the time needed to ensure it reaches its full potential.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
We plan to continue adding meaningful content and improvements, including new locations, systems, vehicles, story content, and broader world depth. As importantly, we’ll keep improving performance, stability, balance, and usability as the game evolves.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The current version already includes the game’s core loop:
explore a large ocean world
scavenge, recycle, and build
craft tools, modules, and weapons
defend key systems from hostile threats
raise human seeds in the Lazarus Complex
launch them into orbit
This is not a prototype. It is a playable and substantial version of the game that will continue to grow during Early Access.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
The current price reflects the game as it exists today. As the scope expands through future updates, the price may increase.
How are you planning to involve the community in your development process?
Player feedback directly shapes the game. We use community input to improve balance, systems, usability, and future priorities. If you want to be part of that process, join us on Discord or in Reddit discussions.
