Astro Bot, HELLDIVERS 2 e Indiana Jones logran un triple empate en el mayor número de nominaciones a los DICE Awards

Los tres juegos han sido nominados a juego del año (Game of the Year), junto con Balatro y Black Myth: Wukong.
Los ganadores serán elegidos por un jurado formado por expertos del sector y se anunciarán el 13 de febrero en una retransmisión en directo de IGN desde el Aria Resort de Las Vegas. Greg Miller, fundador de Kinda Funny Games, y la galardonada figura mediática Stella Chung vuelven como copresentadores de la ceremonia.
Están nominados un total de 60 juegos lanzados a lo largo de 2024. Aunque Astro Bot, Helldivers 2 e Indiana Jones y el Gran Círculo son los más nominados, tanto Balatro como Senua's Saga: Hellblade II han recibido cinco nominaciones cada uno. Por otro lado, 1000xRESIST, ANIMAL WELL y Batman: Arkham Shadow han conseguido cuatro nominaciones cada uno.
En la 28.ª edición de los D.I.C.E. Awards también se rendirá homenaje a Don James, líder y piedra angular de Nintendo of America, con el premio a la trayectoria profesional (Lifetime Achievement).
James fue uno de los primeros empleados de Nintendo of America y ocupó el cargo de vicepresidente ejecutivo de operaciones. Durante su etapa en la industria, ayudó a supervisar la creación de lo que se convertiría en la Entertainment Software Association, el sistema de clasificación ESRB y el E3.
"Es un verdadero honor para mí recibir este premio de parte de la Academy", afirma James. "Esta industria está llena de personas creativas y con talento, y ha sido un absoluto privilegio conocer a muchas de ellas y tener la posibilidad de trabajar juntos a lo largo de las décadas. Mi carrera ha sido un viaje realmente trepidante y divertido, y estoy orgulloso de todas las oportunidades que he tenido la suerte de conseguir".
