Astro Bot, HELLDIVERS 2 e Indiana Jones em um empate triplo para a maioria das indicações do DICE

Os três jogos foram indicados para o Jogo do Ano, assim como Balatro e Black Myth: Wukong.
Os vencedores do prêmio serão escolhidos por uma banca de colegas da indústria e transmitidos ao vivo pela IGN do Aria Resort, em Las Vegas, no dia 13 de fevereiro. Greg Miller, fundador da Kinda Funny Games, e a vencedora do prêmio de personalidade da mídia, Stella Chung, retornam como coapresentadores do programa.
Um total de 60 jogos lançados em 2024 foram indicados. Enquanto Astro Bot, HELLDIVERS 2 e Indiana Jones e o Grande Círculo puseram as mãos na maioria das indicações, tanto Balatro quanto Senua's Saga: Hellblade II têm cinco indicações cada. 1000xRESIST, ANIMAL WELL e Batman: Arkham Shadow garantiram quatro indicações cada.
A 28ª edição anual do D.I.C.E. Awards também receberá Don James, líder e pilar da Nintendo of America, homenageado com um Lifetime Achievement Award (Prêmio de Realização Vitalícia).
James foi um dos primeiros funcionários da Nintendo of America e atuou como vice-presidente executivo de operações. Durante seu tempo na indústria, ele ajudou a supervisionar a criação do que viria a ser a ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE ASSOCIATION, o sistema de classificação ESRB e o E3.
"Estou muito honrado em receber este prêmio da Academia", disse James. "A indústria tem tantas pessoas talentosas e criativas, e tem sido um privilégio absoluto conhecer e trabalhar com tantas delas ao longo das décadas. Minha carreira tem sido uma jornada agitada e divertida, e tenho orgulho de todas as oportunidades que tive a sorte de receber."
