Screamer

Screamer is an arcade-style racing game with an anime twist and a mystery at the core of its narrative.

During IGN Live 2025, Screamer’s neon-lit streets took center stage in a trailer. Cars with rocket-powered boosters raced, bumped, and drifted down city streets, vying for first place in the tournament.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Creators and actors from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the recently released turn-based role-playing game with real-time mechanics, made an appearance at IGN Live 2025 to celebrate the game’s release.

Sandfall Interactive’s French development team starred in a video that chronicled the game’s creation, picking up 48 hours before launch after six years of development. It then picks up on launch day, as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s creators hold their own lunch party, drinking champagne, hugging, and cheering when the countdown timer to launch hits zero. A few of the game’s actors then appeared live onstage to talk about the game and its overwhelmingly positive reception.

You can get Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in the Epic Games Store today. For more on the game, be sure to read our Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Paintress guide.

Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3 is developer Tripwire Interactive’s horror-infused first-person shooter that's set for a July 24, 2025 launch date on the Epic Games Store.
At IGN Live 2025, Creative Director Bryan Wynia took the stage and introduced a developer diary that touted new-to-the-series player interactions with the environment, the deep integration between gameplay and music, its big plans for post-launch support (including bosses, enemies, and environments), and more.

Onstage, Wynia spoke about how the developers incorporated real-word weapons into the game, which was both their plan and a request from players. That process involved using them before creating their digital counterparts, including in-game armaments that are based on WWII-era weapons.

Wynia also expanded on the game’s environmental storytelling, including ambient audio that hints at future enemies, though you may have to turn down the heavy metal music soundtrack slider to hear it. Then he paused and said that he’d probably just dropped more information than was previously available.

Wynia also stressed that “launch is just the beginning,” and though the initial release will a variety of enemies, maps, and weapons, they have lots of plans to add lots more.

The segment ended with a deep dive into the sound in Killing Floor 3, focusing on creating the sound of an enemy. It involved a man, yellow mustard, and some gurgling into a bucket.

MindsEye

Build a Rocket Boy is a developer with GTA roots, and its first game shows it.

At IGN Live 2025, we saw MindsEye in action in an extended trailer that was full of rolling cars, flying glass, and futuristic technology that’s causing the game’s main character, Jacob Diaz, to have odd visions. There were bombastic explosions, fearsome robots charging with purpose, and over-the-shoulder combat scenes.

“Really, it’s action-adventure,” said Game Director Leslie Benzies, former lead designer of Grand Theft Auto games. “A lot of guns and cars. If you like a deep narrative, this is a game for you. But we’re also pushing it toward people who want to make games—make their own games. [There are] very easy tech tools in it to make your own missions [and] make your own gameplay.”

That certainly tracks with the trailer and the gameplay that ran alongside the interview. A few minutes later, he explained how tools that the developers used to create MindsEye will be made available for players to use. A video showed a player creating a desert compound, complete with buildings, vehicles, and even NPC characters. The goal is that the “build systems” is to “put the power in players’ hands,” Benzies said.

MindsEye is a single-player campaign at launch, but Benzies said that multiplayer is scheduled for the end of 2025, and a “huge” open-world multiplayer mode is scheduled for next year.

Check out MindsEye in the Epic Games Store today. It’s slated for a June 10, 2025 release.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team at Sega, took to the stage at IGN Live 2025 Day 1 to discuss the upcoming kart racing game.

“This is a game that’s built off of the Sonic & Sega: All-Star Racing formula,” Iizuka said through a translator. “We wanted to have a large group of characters all racing together, but we also wanted to add in the Travel Ring, which is a new feature for this game. So in the first lap around, you’re going to be racing where you think you’re racing. But in the second lap, you’re going to go through the Travel Ring to somewhere new.”

As new gameplay was played while he was onstage, Iizuka explained some of the new features in the game on display.

“So what we're seeing now is that we're racing in a very similar style to the All-Star formula,” he said as the karts raced through wild courses, changing form as the courses around them demanded. “It's not just on the road. We're also racing in the air, and what you saw was boating, racing through the water, using the hover style for the machines.”

Yesterday, its Summer Game Fest 2025 trailer touted it as the biggest Sonic racing game ever, filled with characters from across the decades-long franchise—and beyond. Hatsune Miku, Ichiban Kasuga (Yakuza), and Joker (Persona 5) all hopped into karts and took to the raceways. We saw a bit of the game’s twisting tracks, as well as hints at the customization options that will let players build a kart to match their style.
