Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley’s celebration of the biggest, most exciting games on the horizon, has just wrapped. The show gave us a look at the next few years of gaming, with announcements of new titles and updates on PC gaming’s most anticipated titles. And a lot of them are coming to the Epic Games Store.
 
Here’s everything users of the Epic Games Store should know about from 2022’s Summer Game Fest.
 

Witchfire

Roguelite shooter Witchfire will launch in Early Access later this year as an Epic Games Store exclusive. The new trailer showed off the first-person action, as a Vatican witch-hunter wields fists, guns and dark magic to battle evil. The Early Access release will come with plenty of content to explore and a solid gameplay loop, featuring RPG elements to power up and customize their skills. You can wishlist it right now! 

Goat Simulator 3

Yes, that’s right, Goat Simulator 3. They’ve skipped a whole game. The anarchic animal simulator returns with multiplayer, and up to four players can now team up and goat around in the open-world sandbox that’s exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Another one you can wishlist. 

Saints Row

You can download the Saints Row’s character customization before the game’s release on August 23. The Boss Factory will let you design and share bosses, tweaking everything from teeth to socks, that you and other players will be able to use when the full game is live.  

The Callisto Protocol

The first in-game footage of The Callisto Protocol gave us a glimpse into prison survival in space. The short, sharp gameplay shows just how disgustingly dangerous getting near spinning blades on the Black Iron prison colony can be. Both the enemies and the player will suffer if they get near. Try to escape the body horror when it's out in December 2022. 
 

OUTRIDERS WORLDSLAYER

A huge update for the 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter is coming June 30, 2022. The game includes the original game and subsequent updates, the OUTRIDERS WORLDSLAYER campaign, a new tier of Apocalypse loot and equipment, and more skill tree branches for you to unlock. Pre-purchase now and you’ll get a 10% discount.  
 

Marvel's Midnight Suns

More of the roster of Marvel's Midnight Suns, the tactical RPS from XCOM developers Firaxis, were revealed. You’ll create your own character, Hunter, to fight alongside some of Marvel’s most recognizable heroes. Play alongside Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Fallen Hulk and more in the battle against Lilith, Mother of Demons. Pre-purchases are live, and the game is out October 7, 2022. 
 

Warframe: Duviri Paradox

The ever-expanding Warframe universe gets… well, bigger again. We had the briefest look at the long-expected Duviri Paradox, first announced in 2019, will be fully revealed July 16, 2022 at Tennocon.

HUMANKIND: Cultures of Latin America

Six new Latin American cultures join the historical strategy game, HUMANKIND... right now. The Cultures of Latin America DLC adds new playable races, from the Caralans of the Ancient Era to Contemporary Cubans. The update is live, with a 10% discount on Epic Games Store until 4 PM ET, July 7, 2022. 
 

Gotham Knights

We caught the debut of Gotham Knights’ acrobatic hero, Nightwing. The newly revealed character for the action RPG is an agile defender who can swiftly take down gangs of enemies with his escrima sticks and wrist darts. His agility extends to his traversal skills, which are a combo of parkour, grappling hooks, and a glider that lets him leap off the highest of buildings. The game releases on October 25, 2022, but you can pre-purchase now.

Layers of Fears

Horror masters Bloober Team return to their classic series with Layers of Fears. The story-driven, first-person scare ‘em up puts you in the shoes of an actor filming a movie aboard an ocean liner. As filming progresses, he starts to lose track of what’s real, and what’s not. Dare you wishlist right now? 
 

Nightingale

Our first proper look at Nightingale’s survival looked unique to say the least. The solo or multiplayer game lets you freely explore bizarre worlds, letting you open portals to the lands of Fae. Hunt for schematics, and unlock new equipment and weapons while dealing with twisted, gnarly beasts. But it’s still a survival game, so you must eat, sleep, and build shelter amidst the twisted worlds. And, guess what, you can totally wishlist it right now. 

The Invincible

Our first look at the retro-futuristic space adventure, The Invincible, shows a game of thoughtful exploration on an alien world, with a wonderful mixture of analog tech and gorgeous design. Survive the desolate world while investigating a mission gone wrong. Wishlist is now available.

Chivalry 2: The Tenosian Invasion

Medieval warfare multiplayer game, Chivalry 2 just had its biggest update. The Tenosian Invasion brings a new faction, two new team objective maps, a pair of deathmatch maps, and, best of all … horses. 

System Shock

An update of the classic 1994 horror RPG, System Shock looks like a perfect collision of the dark, twisty story and gameplay and a modern engine, and is now available for pre-purchase. The original game’s influence can be felt in every immersive sim since its release, but there’s nothing quite like the first meeting with Shodan. 

Redfall

The first proper look at Redfall, Arkane Studios’ vampire-slaying open-world, co-op FPS, was everything we’d hoped for and more. A team of up to four players will battle vampires and cultists who want to be vampires. The blood-munchers have blocked out the sun, and you’re stuck in the titular town trying to take them down. It’s a battle thick with UV light gadgets, special powers, and flare guns, and can be wishlisted today. 

Ravenlok

A young girl falls into a fairytale world through a magic mirror and proceeds to kick butt. Ravenlok’s voxel-infused RPG world is full of mystery, quests, and bizarre creatures. But unlike the typical heroes of such tales, here you’ll be blasting them with fireballs and chopping away with swords. It’s coming soon to Epic Games Store and can be wishlisted. 

Divine Knockout

Small gods get into big fights in Divine Knockout, a newly revealed 'third-person physics brawler'. Classic mythological deities, like Hercules, fight in 3v3 battles, trying to knock other gods off the map while avoiding traps. 

Ark  2

The dinosaur-taming survival game Ark 2 showed off Vin Diesel’s character, Santiago, riding around on top of a T-Rex. The sequel has a new planet, a new Souls-like melee system, including target-lock, blocks, dodges, combos, staggers, special attacks, and more. With dynamic world events and a new PVE force who have their own tamed dinosaurs to battle upon. 

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Amicia leads her younger brother, Hugo, through another desperate battle for survival in A Plague Tale: Requiem. They’re the targets of a fearful world, terrified of Hugo’s illness and powers, which bring forth and control plague rats. It forces them to be stealthy, to use weapons, tools, and powers to escape to an island that might hold the cure to Hugo's Curse. It’s coming soon and available to wishlist. 

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

In Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, players will battle the Gods themselves. An army of the dead has arisen, overwhelming the living. Players will fight back against the undead in this third-person action game, mixing traditional weaponry (the “Flintlock” of the title and more) with magical powers. The personal vendetta will take you to the God who unleashed hell on the world. You can wishlist it right now. 

F1 Manager 2022

Formula One racing isn’t just about speed; there’s a lot that goes into creating, building up, and maintaining a legacy, and F1 Manager 2022 packs it all in. Developed by Frontier Developments—the studio behind the Elite Dangerous and Jurassic World Evolution series—this official race management sim is packed with nuanced controls that let you select racing strategies, engineer new, specific designs for your cars, and even issue pace commands on the fly.

Die By The Blade

A cyberpunk-infused samurai game, Die By The Blade’s focus is on swords and 1v1 battles. It’s a game about the mastery of weapons, where you’ll have to parry, dodge, and do everything you can do not to be hit while fighting back. A single blow is capable of killing you. 

Deliver Us Mars

Humanity needs to expand or perish. In Deliver Us Mars, a distress call from the Red planet sends you on a rescue mission to reclaim the stolen colony ships that could save humanity. You’ll have to uncover secrets hidden in the dusty surface and unforgiving terrain. You can pre-purchase it right now on the Epic Games Store. 

The Alters

Crashed and alone on a desolate planet, Jan Dolski is left with no other choice but to create alternate versions of himself to survive. The Alters is about confronting his past and the routes he didn’t take, with each version being based on a life choice he didn’t take. The deeply philosophical narrative tale is available to wishlist. 

Nivalis

Finally, a chance to do more than run and gun in a dystopian future. Nivalis gives you a chance to fully immerse yourself in cyberpunk in a “slice of life” sim developed by Ion Lands, the folks behind 2020’s well-received cyberpunk adventure Cloudpunk. This time around, though, you won’t be making illicit deliveries as a flying car driver. Instead, you’ll be focused on building out your empire of restaurants, ramen stands, and nightclubs. When you’re not designing your properties to maximize profits or friendships, you’ll be busy decorating your apartment, wandering the streets and chatting with the locals, even fishing.

Alaskan Truck Simulator

There have been big rig simulators in the past, but Alaskan Truck Simulator is focused on more than tooling around in an 18-wheeler. To quote the trailer: Be a trucker, not a truck. What that means is the game not only has you driving around in your rig but also worrying about things like taking a break when you get drowsy, refilling oil, putting on tire chains, and hooking up the trailer. Of course, there’s plenty of Alaska to see in the game as well, both in your truck and on foot. This game is one part truck driving simulator, one part survival game.
