Clair Obscur is de grote winnaar van de Golden Joystick Awards 2025

Het is het seizoen van de awards en de winnaars van de Golden Joystick Awards 2025 zijn bekendgemaakt. Geweldige actie-RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sleepte zeven prijzen in de wacht, waaronder die voor beste storytelling, beste visuele vormgeving en de ultieme game van het jaar. 

Andere winnaars waren onder andere Blue Prince voor beste indiegame, PEAK voor de beste multiplayergame, Ghost of Yōtei behaalde de prijs voor beste console-game en Hollow Knight: Silksong pakte de prijs voor beste pc-game. 

Maggie Robertson, ook wel bekend als de imposante Lady Dimitrescu uit Resident Evil, was zo vriendelijk om de ceremonie in Londen te leiden, en zij voegde wat chaotische energie toe aan de show. Ze zong zelfs een liedje. Er werden meer dan 21 miljoen stemmen uitgebracht voor de langstlopende, door het publiek verkozen game-awards. Extra awards waren onder andere de award voor de keuze van de streamers die naar PEAK ging, de award voor de doorbraak ging naar Schedule 1, Donkey Kong Bananza was de keuze van de critici en The Sims-serie werd opgenomen in de Hall of Fame van de Golden Joystick.
