Gamescom 2025: A guide to the schedule, from ONL to FGS and indies

Gamescom 2025 is the world’s biggest video game show, and it’s not even close. Last year, 335,000 people traveled to Cologne, Germany for the event, and hundreds of thousands will gather in 2025 too.

But you don’t need to travel to a European city founded in 38 BC to get the news. Here's your guide to every streaming show from Gamescom 2025.

Opening Night Live 2025

Gamescom 2025’s show floor is open from Wednesday, August 20, 2025, to Sunday, August 24, but the public festivities really begin with Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live (ONL). Yes, that’s the same Geoff Keighley behind Summer Game Fest 2025, which delivered its own world premieres, news, trailers, and more in June.

Gamescom 2025 A Guide To The Schedule From Onl To Fgs And Indies Floor

ONL will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT / 8 PM CEST, and you can watch it directly on the official Gamescom site, as well as the event’s Twitch and YouTube pages.

Every year, ONL delivers new game announcements and features gameplay, trailers, and guests from throughout the video game industry. We’ll be covering all of the big news for Epic Games Store users.

The day after ONL, Gamescom opens up to the public. Some confirmed games for the big show include:

Future Games Show returns to Gamescom in 2025 with three shows that you can watch on the official FGS Facebook, Twitch, X, and YouTube accounts.

Future Games Show at Gamescom is the flagship broadcast. At the helm in 2025 are David Hayter (who voiced Solid Snake in many Metal Gear games) and Maggie Robertson (Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu).

Every FGS is filled with premieres, gameplay, and developer interviews, followed by more from the Future Games Show Live from Gamescom with mainstay hosts Jules and Nathan. FGS Best of Gamescom takes place on the event’s final day, and it’ll include more reveals and recap the show's announcements. That’ll be more than 50 titles, according to the organizers. Last year’s FGS show at Gamescom was full of news about The Casting of Frank Stone, Dustborn, First Dwarf, Once Human, The Precinct, Starship Troopers: Extermination, and many more games that you can check out on Epic Games Store.

Gamescom Awesome Indies

The Gamescom Awesome Indies show takes place on August 21, 2025 at 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT / 6 PM CEST to celebrate independent games, their creators, and their publishers.

Gamescom’s official indie show promises reveals, updates, exclusive trailers, first looks, and premieres.
