Welcome to our live coverage of Gamescom Opening Night Live, which is streaming direct from Cologne's massive Koelnmesse.

The annual kick-off for one of the biggest video game expos in the world is led by Geoff Keighley.

Here’s your guide to everything we saw during ONL 2026, from the trailers and world premieres to news and exclusives, custom-tailored for Epic Games Store players.

Aniimo, a free-to-play, creature-catching open-world role-playing game from the developers at Pawprint Studio got a musical trailer at ONL 2026, and it ended with a Sept. 16, 2026 launch date.

As a Pathfinder, you’ll traverse the continent of Idyll, discovering and capturing the mysterious creatures called Aniimo. Above the land is a sprawling, floating metropolis where you’ll meet and battle other Pathfinders., The trailer showcased the adorable animals, fantasy-tinged locations, and battles big and small that you’ll find in Aniimo

The action role-playing game from the developers at Genigods Lab got a combat-focused trailer during the ONL 2026 pre-show.

You’ll play as the trailer’s star, Spirit Pearl, who is the “first life forged by Nüwa, the Goddess of Life, from earth, water and fire,” and her in-game story is based on Chinese mythology. The trailer was filled with battles against colossi, in diverse and desolate landscapes.

Developer Duck Reaction’s psychological horror game is headed to the Epic Games Store in the spring of 2027, according to its ONL 2026 pre-show trailer.

Perceptum’s eerily silent trailer followed the protagonist through an immensely creepy house that serves as the game’s setting. The horror game is designed to make you feel uncomfortable, uncertain, and watched. Your only weapon is a mysterious mirror, and you can see it reveal otherworldly results in the trailer.

You can learn more about Perceptum in the Epic Games Store today.

Developer Capcom’s samurai-swordplay heavy action game is set for a Sept. 4, 2026 release, and its demo has been expanded, according to its pre-show ONL 2026 trailer.

In a game that blends Mexican folklore with arcade gameplay, you’ll battle through the Realm of the Dead using the mighty La Sombra and wearing a Mariachi suit.

Rainbow Six Siege Tactics, a real-time strategy game from Ubisoft Paris, made its surprise debut tonight on the way to its 2027 release.

The game’s first trailer showed off gameplay that offered a mix of isometric views and over-the-shoulder, third-person action. The single-player game will put players on missions worldwide, commanding a squad of capable warriors. And you’ll have 15 operators to choose from, Keighley said, all of whom have special abilities, gadgets, and progression paths.

Silent Hill: Townfall’s ONL 2026 trailer hyped the upcoming release date with a terrifying overview of the game’s fundamental mysteries.

In developer Screen Burn Interactive’s Silent Hill: Townfall, you’ll play as Simon Ordell, who returns to a twisted town of St. Amelia, Scotland. It’s a standalone survival-horror adventure, and the cast of confusing characters (not to mention an enormous eldritch horror looming in the foggy distance) were all stars of the trailer.

Developer Asobo Studio’s prequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence and Plague Tale: Requiem got a trailer during ONL 2026, focusing on the main character’s desire to escape a mysterious island.

It’s set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, and you play as Sophia, who’s on the run and searching for the secrets that surround her past. The trailer shows off the emotional story, the combat, and the Minotaur Island setting.

Set for an Aug. 27, 2026 release, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is available for pre-purchase in the Epic Games Store with the Heritage Pack DLC, the Minoan Sword, the Alec’s Pendant on offer as pre-order bonuses.

Sea of Remnants is the stylized action role-playing game that puts you in the role of a memory-starved puppetfolk sailor who scours the seas battling monsters, building a fleet, and bonding with your companions.

Its Gamescom ONL 2026 trailer showed off the magical nautical setting, which included sailing, exploring, treasure hunting, and fighting on the land and the sea.

Crimson Desert is getting its first sale, as the free Enhanced update heads to the Epic Games Store.

CONTROL Resonant, the sequel to developer Remedy Entertainment’s supernatural action game, arrived at ONL 2026 with a trailer that showed off the action, combat, and magical traversal in the upcoming game.

CONTROL Resonant brings players to New, where the supernatural powers have broken free from the Oldest House. Now the wider world is glitching—and the original protagonist’s brother, Dylan Faden, will take the fight to the streets of New York City after years in confinement at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC).

Check out CONTROL Resonant in the Epic Games Store. You can also find the original Control, the co-op first-person shooter spinoff FBC: Firebreak, as well as Remedy's Alan Wake 2 where Jesse Faden appeared in DLC.

EXODUS, the sci-fi action-adventure RPG from developer Archetype Entertainment and publisher Wizards of the Coast, arrived with a trailer that showed off Salt, a valuable octopus bounty hunter and mercenary.

You play as Jun Aslan, the Traveler, leading humanity’s fight for survival against the Celestials 40,000 years in the future—journeying across worlds, confronting time, and shaping the fate of generations. Salt lives in a mech and, when she’s not fighting, an aquarium. Their agreement is simple: She hunts, and Jun pays. She said that she misses the ocean, and she misses its safety. But she’s willing to fight—for a price.

Check out EXODUS in the Epic Games Store ahead of its April 7, 2027 release.

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons arrived at ONL 2026 with a trailer focused on gameplay and introduced by actor Maggie Robertson, who you may know as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village.

The open-world, single-player RPG from developer Invoke Studios made its debut at The Game Awards earlier this year. You’ll play as the warrior Kaatri as she wields magic to fight and defend her world. The ONL trailer was all about how she wields something magical called the Warlock’s Eye, both in and out of battle. Kaatri teleports through barriers, uses telekinesis to traverse the environment and toss enemies around, and zaps foes out of existence. She also carries a sword for up-close encounters, but Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is clearly focused on splashy magical attacks first.

Check out Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons in the Epic Games Store.

Two developers of the first-person shooter at 4A Games took the stage and the story of making a game during a time of war. The story of the game, they said, takes inspiration from the real-world events surrounding the development.

According to Executive Producer Jon Block, Metro 2039 tells the story of war’s “consequences and what it takes to survive—the cost of silence, the horror of tyranny, and the price of freedom.”

In the single-player campaign, you’ll explore post-apocalyptic Moscow, 25 years after nuclear war left a wasteland and desperate survivors. A fanatical Spartan known as Hunter has united the resistance, as Hunter’s Novoreich regime rules through propaganda and fear. The ONL 2026 trailer focused on the game’s dark, first-person combat, delivered via the studio’s in-house engine.

Check out Metro 2039 in the Epic Games Store ahead of its Feb. 2027 release.
